"Cough, who am I?"
"Where am I?"
"What happened?"
In the ruins, the flying dust entered Long Feipeng's throat as he breathed, making him feel very uncomfortable.
He did not know how long he had been unconscious, but he woke up. When he opened his eyes, he saw that he was surrounded by the ruins of the collapsed buildings, broken records, and posters.
The strong ringing in his ears prevented him from hearing anything from the outside world, and it gave him a headache.
He tried hard to wake himself up, trying to remember what had happened.
Slowly, the memory began to surface.
It was supposed to be a happy weekend. Long Feipeng left school and planned to go to the antique video store at the corner of Linden Street to look for some old movies.
Everything went smoothly as usual. He arrived at the antique video store and greeted the enthusiastic owner. Then he walked to the shelves and started to pick out the discs.
Just as he found a movie called "ET", he suddenly heard an ear-piercing whistle coming from outside.
Then there was a deafening explosion. Long Feipeng, who was still holding the disc in his hand, felt the ground shake.
He wanted to go out to see what was going on, but he suddenly felt the ground shake under his feet. He lost his balance and fell to the ground.
Then a row of shelves next to him came crashing down on him. Long Feipeng instinctively shielded his face with his arms. The next second, he felt his vision go black, and he lost consciousness.
After waking up, Long Feipeng finally remembered what had happened.
After calming himself down, he used his hands to push away the wooden shelf that was crushing him and forced himself to get up.
He checked himself and found that his limbs could still be moved. There were only some minor scratches. Feeling that it was not a big deal, Long Feipeng sighed in relief.
"Oh my God, what happened to this d * mn place?" Following Long Feipeng's gaze, he saw that the entrance of the video store was no longer there.
The whole building looked like it had been slashed diagonally by a sharp knife. The place where the bar should have been was also flattened by the collapsed wall.
Vaguely, he saw red blood oozing out from under the wall. It was hard to imagine that the black boss, who had greeted him warmly before, had already been squashed into a meat patty.
The first thing that came to Long Feipeng's mind was to leave this godforsaken place.
When he staggered out of the music store, the scene on the street was unforgettable.
At this time, there were a few large pits on the street, and there were still burning charcoal fires in them. Most of the buildings on both sides had collapsed, and thick smoke billowed out.
Debris from the buildings scattered on the streets, some directly smashed into the parked cars on the side of the road, igniting a raging fire.
The street, which was supposed to be cold, was not cold at all. The snow on the street was also melted by the heat.
The fire hydrant on the side of the road was smashed, and the water sprayed high into the air. The mist reflected a faint rainbow under the sunlight.
Dust and smoke filled half of Linden Street.
Some of the people on the street ran in all directions, some lay on the ground motionless as if they were dead, some sat on the ground covered in blood, wailing loudly, and some rushed into the buildings to look for their families. It was like hell had come back to life.
Woo! A sound that sounded like a ship's whistle came from the sky. The extremely high frequency of the sound almost made Long Feipeng vomit blood.
Looking in the direction of the sound, he saw a large object flying slowly from the direction of Manhattan.
The thick smoke blocked Long Feipeng's vision, and he could not see what was flying towards him.
But a bad feeling rose in his heart, and he turned to run.
He had only taken a dozen steps when the music store behind him exploded.
The blast was like a leaf being blown away, and it rolled up Long Feipeng and threw him to the ground.
Long Feipeng was thrown off balance. When he got up and looked back, he finally saw what was flying towards him.
The behemoth in the sky was actually a huge aircraft that was completely black.
This was not something that humans could have. In Long Feipeng's limited knowledge, such things could only be seen in some contemporary movies and literature.
From afar, the aircraft looked like a capital "h" standing upright in the clouds. It moved forward slowly, and in the center of the aircraft was a huge purple halo.
At the bottom of the aircraft, there were a few black tubes pointing straight to the ground.
Occasionally, the aircraft would flash with a purple light. It must be adjusting its flight path.
"Alien invasion?" The thought suddenly popped into Long Feipeng's mind.
Just as Long Feipeng felt like his brain cells were running out, one of the tubes on the aircraft glowed with a faint blue light. Then, a blinding beam of light shot straight to the ground.
Then, there was a huge explosion and a cloud of dust.
The hot air from the explosion blew over and blew on Long Feipeng's face, making him feel like he was being cut by a knife.
After the explosion, Long Feipeng struggled to open his eyes. He saw a few missiles coming from another direction, leaving a long trail of flames behind them. This was probably a "polite" response from the humans.
But before the missiles could get close, they all exploded about ten meters away from the aircraft.
The spaceship seemed to have an invisible protective shield that prevented the warhead from being damaged in the slightest.
At that moment, the aircraft seemed to have stopped moving. Then, there was another "woo ~ ~" sound. From the bottom of the aircraft, hundreds and thousands of small airships came out in a long line in the air.
As soon as these small airships left the mothership, they spread out and began to attack the ground in a frenzy.
Yellow laser beams covered the entire Linden street.
The screams on the street became louder. Countless people died under the yellow light.
Anything touched by the laser, be it human body or building, would be vaporized, burning holes in it. It was terrifying.
Run. At that moment, there was only one thought in his mind. If he didn't run, he would die.
Holding his breath, he gritted his teeth and crossed two blocks. Finally, he stopped in the alley between two well-preserved residential buildings. Then, he went into the alley without hesitation.
New York had never lacked such alleys, high-density buildings, and the settled American culture at the bottom.
This made such alleys the favorite of some homeless and gangsters.
But now, it became a refuge for Long Feipeng.
Sitting on the ground in the alley, Long Feipeng, who was on the verge of collapse, breathed weakly.
The pain in his abdomen told him that he might have lost his breath.
Just when Long Feipeng thought he got rid of the small airships.
A small airship flew through the alley with a buzzing sound.
Obviously, the small airship did not notice his existence, but this gave Long Feipeng a fright.
He quickly opened the trash can, regardless of whether it was dirty or not, and jumped in.
Sure enough, not long after Long Feipeng jumped into the trash can.
The small airship flew back, descended to the height of a person, and floated into the alley.
Through the gap of the trash can lid, he saw the airship slowly floating in front of him. Long Feipeng didn't dare to breathe.
This was the first time he observed this strange thing up close.
The small airship was small, but it was about the size of a car. After entering the alley, it became a bit crowded.
The surface of the pitch-black ship was covered with geometric patterns that emitted a faint halo of light. It was like a totem from ancient times, making one's hair stand on end.
The airship flew past the trash can and stopped, seemingly searching for its target.
