Age Whisk
Chapter 2
"Sissy, Sissy, it's time to wake up."
"Sissy, if you don't wake up, Beira is going to eat your birthday cake."
"Andomida, you're so boring."
Narcissa opened her eyes in a daze and saw an enlarged baby face. Her curly brown hair was playfully pinned behind her ears.
"An … Andomida?" Narcissa still remembered how her second sister looked when she was a child. "I … Am I dreaming?"
"What are you dreaming about? Did you sleep too much?"
Narcissa turned her head and saw Bella from her childhood wearing her favorite school-style suit shirt and trousers. She crossed her arms in front of her chest and leaned against the door. Her black hair was loosely tied up and fell to one side.
Narcissa suddenly sat up in disbelief. With a loud bang, she bumped into the head of Andromeda, who was leaning over to look at her.
"Sissy, what are you doing?" Andomida complained and rubbed her head. "My head is red because of you."
Narcissa just sat there in a daze and looked around in surprise. She felt a pain in her head and reached out to rub it, but she suddenly retracted her hand when she saw her own.
After a while, she put her hand in front of her eyes and looked back and forth between her palm and the back of her hand.
"I … I …"
"It can't be, did you really sleep too much?"
Beira frowned and put her hand down. She walked over and touched Narcissa's head. "You don't have a fever, Sissy. What's wrong?"
"She must have stolen daddy's liqueur chocolate yesterday."
Andomida was still rubbing her head with one hand, but the other hand pulled Beira's sleeve and complained to Beira. "You said you wouldn't bring me along even if you stole it. Beira, you have to punish her."
Beira slapped Andomida's hand away and glanced at her. "If you keep rubbing, your head will swell up. Let's see how you'll handle the party." She then turned to Narcissa. "Sissy, what's wrong?"
Narcissa looked up blankly and glanced at the two of them. "Andomida?
Beira? "
She couldn't help but think of their tragic lives in the future. Her tears gradually overflowed and fell uncontrollably.
"Hey, Sissy, what's wrong?
Don't cry! "
"Narcissa, where do you feel uncomfortable? Say something!"
Narcissa wiped her tears with the back of her hand and shook her head. She didn't know if she was upset, sad, resentful of fate, or happy that she could change everything in time.
This complicated feeling reached its peak when her mother, Mrs. Black, heard the news and came over. She went from hiding her face behind her arms and sobbing to throwing herself into her mother's arms and crying uncontrollably.
And so, Narcissa Black's fifth birthday began with her family frantically coaxing her to stop crying.
After that, the party was very formal. Since Narcissa Black was already five years old, according to the tradition of pure-blooded families, this was the first time she could be pushed out to meet everyone.
Narcissa was led to the center of the party by her mother. Behind her were her father, Beira, and Andomida.
Under the dazzling lights, Narcissa saluted the guests, indicating that she could begin to socialize.
After that, there was the familiar applause, praise, congratulations, and mixed with words of jealousy and flattery. As Lady Malfoy, she was already familiar with the content.
Narcissa just stood aside obediently. Instead, she attracted the attention of the ladies, and the words of praise were more sincere.
After the speech, Mr. Black announced the start of the party. Mrs. Black bent down and said to the three sisters, "Go and play with your friends." Only then did Narcissa heave a sigh of relief.
Andromeda was the first to run off. In the blink of an eye, she had run off to some unknown place to play. Bella looked at Narcissa and pointed at a child who was about her age. "You should go and meet your new friends," she said.
After that, she patted Narcissa's head and turned to her little group. It was made up of children of pure-blooded families around her age who were going to attend the Hogwarts in the same year. She started chatting with them.
Narcissa couldn't remember what happened at her fifth birthday party. She didn't want to mingle with children who were really five or six years old. So, when the adults weren't looking, she sneaked out of the party.
The moon was perfect tonight. Narcissa thought to herself that she should go to the Roman fountain in the garden and sit there for a while.
However, when she arrived at the fountain, she saw that there was already a child there. He was tossing leaves into the fountain, bored out of his mind.
His platinum short hair was neatly arranged, and he was wearing an exquisite white suit and black leather shoes.
Narcissa couldn't help but think of Xiao Long when he was young. "Draco?" She blurted out.
The child turned around and looked at her with his silver-gray eyes. There was a calmness about him that didn't match his age.
Compared to this child, Draco had inherited her blue eyes, which were grayish and bluish. Draco had also inherited her almond-shaped eyes, which were rounder than the child's narrow, sharp, and slightly charming eyes. Their aura was different. Xiao Long was only a spoiled child at this age and was slightly arrogant. He definitely didn't have the calmness that Draco had.
However, this child looked almost identical to Draco in other places. Thanks to the strong genes of the Malfoy family, the child here was, "Lucius … Malfoy?"
Narcissa was about to call out his name instinctively, but she suddenly realized that they didn't know each other yet. So, she changed his first name to his last name, and her tone changed from affirmative to questioning.
The child narrowed his eyes and looked her up and down. "Miss Narcissa Black." He used a declarative sentence, and his tone was very certain.
Then, he took a few steps forward and came to Narcissa. He raised his chin and reached out his hand. "I'm Malfoy, Lucius Malfoy. You can call me Lucius."
Narcissa was slightly stunned.
Lucius's voice now didn't sound like the smooth and slightly arrogant aria of the gorgeous aristocrat in her memory. Instead, because he hadn't changed his voice, it sounded a little childish, very much like Xiao Long's when he pretended to be calm in front of banquets when he was young.
Come to think of it, Lucius was still a six-year-old child. No matter how mature he was, it didn't change the fact that he was still very young.
Narcissa curved her eyes and reached out her hand. She put it on his hand and shook it. "I'm Narcissa Black. You can call me Narcissa. Nice to meet you, Lucius."
The evening wind blew gently, bringing with it a hint of coldness.
After the two of them got to know each other, they didn't speak.
Narcissa had planned to hide from the noisy crowd and find a quiet place to get some fresh air.
And Lucius … Narcissa turned to look at Lucius. He pursed his lips and stared straight at the leaves floating in the pool. His brows were slightly furrowed.
Narcissa glanced down at his hand. His right hand was clenched into a fist, and it looked like he was using some force. His thumb was stroking the knuckles of his other four fingers. This was a sign that Lucius was troubled.
This little habit of his was the same as when he was an adult, but as an adult, he was used to holding the snake-headed wand. His thumb would subconsciously stroke the snake-headed wand back.
"What's wrong?"
Narcissa broke the silence. "Lucius, why are you unhappy? Did something happen?"
Lucius turned to face her, but his eyes weren't looking at her. Instead, he was looking at the ground to her left. "Nothing."
Although he said that, Lucius wasn't an adult yet. He wasn't as good at pretending as he was, and his expression still revealed some sadness.
Narcissa hugged him out of habit, wanting to give him some comfort. But as soon as she hugged him, she realized that he wasn't her husband yet. They were still strangers who had just met.
She felt his body stiffen slightly, but she didn't let go. She thought to herself, Anyway, my biological age is now five. I can be forgiven for being rude.
So she made up her mind and patted Lucius's back gently. She whispered in his ear, "It's okay. It's okay. Don't be sad."
Lucius's back gradually relaxed, but he didn't seem to be used to being hugged. He twisted a few times, but didn't forcefully break free. "Na … Narcissa …" After a while, he slowly hugged Narcissa and rested his head on her shoulder. He murmured in her ear in a low voice, "Narcissa, why do you think people die?
Where do we go after we die? "
Narcissa didn't know how to answer him. Lucius hesitated, but continued, "Narcissa … My mother … She's not very well now. I'm worried."
Lady Malfoy?
Abraxas' wife?
In her previous life, Narcissa had never seen this person. There wasn't even a portrait of her in the Malfoy Manor, and Lucius had never mentioned her.
The only impression she had of Lucius's elder was Abraxas Malfoy. He was the one who arranged her marriage to Lucius.
But the outside world didn't have a good opinion of Abraxas. It was rumored that he was a loose man who didn't seek to improve himself.
Narcissa didn't meet him many times. The few times they met were after she and Lucius got engaged. She stood aside obediently and listened to her father talk to Abraxas Malfoy.
However, it was true that Old Malfoy's female companions were all different from one another.
Narcissa had always thought that Lucius' mother had died when Lucius was born. But now, according to Lucius, she was only in poor health now?
Narcissa wasn't a doctor. She didn't know how to save Lady Malfoy's life. Although the Malfoy family hadn't become the most powerful family in the Slytherin family under Lucius's leadership, it was still a big family with a long history. It didn't lack money or resources. But for Lucius to say this, he must have tried everything.
Narcissa's heart sank. She prepared herself for the worst. Softly, she said, "She'll become a star … Lucius …" Lucius looked up. Under the moonlight, his eyes were watery. She didn't know if he had cried.
Narcissa stepped back a little, but still held his shoulder. She looked into his silver-gray eyes. "I believe that after people pass away, they will become stars. They will watch us from the sky, pray for us, and give us their blessings."
She thought of her Xiao Long, and Lucius, who she left behind in her previous life. "Think of the spirits of those who have obsessions. Although our family members don't have such obsessions, they still care about us. So, even if they pass away, they will always be by our side."
Then, as if to convince Lucius, she added, "The Black family has always had this saying. So, our family members are named after constellations. If someone passes away, we will look up at that constellation when we think of that person.
They are in the sky, protecting us all the time. "
Lucius's expression gradually relaxed. He seemed to have thought of something. His expression was helpless and self-deprecating. "My mother probably didn't want it. After all … I actually felt sad for her …" He closed his eyes. In a voice so soft that Narcissa almost couldn't hear him, he said, "But, she was my mother." He sighed, collected his emotions, and turned to Narcissa. "Thank you, Narcissa." His tone was sincere and serious. "It's a pleasure to meet you.
Although it's a little inconvenient recently, if there's a chance, would you like to visit Malfoy Manor? "
