Becoming a Big Shot in the Celestial Realm

Chapter 1078

Chapter 1078: Sweeping Through Thousands of Armies (Part 2)

Beneath the walls of the Hanhai Dao Palace, the ground was littered with heaps of corpses.

After seven days of relentless and brutal combat, the Enemy Army had repeatedly attempted to breach the walls, only to be driven back each time by the indomitable Dao Palace warriors. Both sides had suffered devastating losses.

The crux of the matter was that the Dao Palace warriors were few in number, while the enemy seemed inexhaustible.

Not only had they encircled the Hanhai Dao Palace, bombarding it with relentless artillery fire, but they had also severed the lifeline of support from Hanhai City to the Dao Palace.

In truth, Hanhai City itself was under tremendous strain, teetering on the brink of collapse!

Thus, Chen Mo and his fellow Dao Palace warriors had no choice but to rely solely on themselves.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

As the first wave of enemies was repelled today, a barrage of shells rained down upon the palace walls like a tempest. Shards of stone bullets flew in all directions, and many Dao Palace warriors, unable to evade in time, cried out in agony as they fell to the ground.

The Enemy Army had advanced their artillery, closing the distance to the walls, which made this round of bombardment especially ferocious.

Thankfully, the outer walls of the Dao Palace had been constructed from the sturdiest black gold rock, enabling them to endure the onslaught of the shells. Otherwise, they would have crumbled long ago.

Even so, the Dao Palace warriors had little means to retaliate.

The heavy cannons once mounted on the walls had been destroyed, stripping them of their most formidable weapons.

“Charge!”

Crouched behind the battlements, Chen Mo once again heard the Enemy Army’s furious war cries. He shook his head, trying to clear the fog of disorientation.

Just then, a voice filled with dread rang out beside him: “Everyone, beware—magical attack!”

Chen Mo instinctively looked up and saw countless fiery points streaking across the sky, hurtling toward their position.

They were fireballs, blazing with intense flames!

A bitter smile crept across Chen Mo’s face.

Previously, the magical assaults from the Enemy Army’s mages had been thwarted by the combined efforts of the Grand Celestial Master and the Dao Palace disciples.

But now, the Grand Celestial Master lay seriously wounded, and more than half of the hundreds of Dao Palace disciples had perished. Who remained to stand against the enemy’s rain of fire?

Chen Mo closed his eyes, bracing himself for the inevitable end.

The Dao Palace warriors around him were in a similar state, having all but abandoned hope, choosing instead to meet their fate as martyrs for the Dao Palace.

At this point, resistance seemed futile.

Moments later, however, Chen Mo sensed something amiss.

He was unharmed.

“Look!”

Chen Mo’s eyes snapped open, widening in astonishment.

The rain of fire descending from above was being intercepted by a translucent barrier. The powerful fireballs struck it, either bouncing off or exploding harmlessly.

How was this possible?

Chen Mo rubbed his eyes, half-convinced he was hallucinating.

But this was no illusion!

“The formations have been restored!”

A voice, hoarse yet filled with joy, rang out, injecting a surge of strength into the surrounding warriors.

Another voice shouted, “It must be the Grand Celestial Master!”

Chen Mo nodded in agreement.

Indeed, who else but the Grand Celestial Master could restore the protective formations of the palace?

In the next moment, an indescribable aura surged from the direction of the Dao Palace, instantly sweeping across the entire wall.

Chen Mo and the other Dao Palace warriors felt a warm, comforting sensation, as if bathed in a spring breeze, and their wounds began to heal.

It was nothing short of a miracle!

“Quick, quick, quick! Charge forward!”

The enemies besieging the Dao Palace witnessed this extraordinary sight, and their leader roared in fury, “The first one to scale the wall will be rewarded with ten thousand taels and granted the title of lord!”

Driven by the promise of such a reward, the enemies, their eyes blazing with greed, hoisted their ladders and charged toward the wall with reckless abandon.

Chen Mo tightened his grip on his weapon, ready to fend off the onslaught.

Just then, a tall figure appeared beside him.

The man wore a blue-green Dao robe, his features strikingly handsome, and he radiated a faint, otherworldly glow, as if he were a celestial being.

Chen Mo’s breath caught in his throat.

Grandmaster!

He instantly recognized the man who had suddenly appeared: it was Wang Chen, the Grandmaster of Great Zhou, who was supposed to be in deep slumber within the Dao Palace.

Though Wang Chen had remained silent for many years, his legend lived on.

The supremely powerful Queen Wu Zhao was his disciple, as was the undefeated Invincible Warrior Ling Zhiyuan. His invention of the flintgun had revolutionized warfare and left behind countless tales.

Despite Queen Wu Zhao’s repeated denials, many believed that Wang Chen had already achieved ascension, leaving behind only a shell in the Hanhai Dao Palace.

Yet, this Grandmaster remained the spiritual leader of Great Zhou!

Chen Mo was utterly stunned. He never imagined that the Grandmaster they had fought so desperately to protect would appear before him, alive and well.

Chen Mo stood frozen, and so did the other Dao Palace warriors around him, their eyes wide and mouths agape.

Seeing their astonishment, Wang Chen smiled gently and said, “You’ve done well. Leave the rest to me.”

With those words, he drew a large sword and leaped off the high wall.

Boom!

Wang Chen landed firmly on the ground before the wall, facing the vast enemy army.

For a moment, the enemies were too stunned to react.

Then, an officer barked, “What are you waiting for? Kill him!”

No matter how extraordinary Wang Chen seemed, he was just one man. With so many soldiers charging at him, they could easily overwhelm him!

The enemy soldiers, as if waking from a dream, dropped their ladders and drew their swords, rushing toward Wang Chen with fierce cries.

“Ha!”

Facing the hundreds of enemies surging toward him, Wang Chen smirked coldly and thrust his large sword into the ground.

Boom!

The earth shook violently, and clouds of dirt erupted, blocking the enemies’ advance and deflecting the bullets aimed at him.

In the next moment, Wang Chen pulled his sword from the ground and charged forward, plunging into the chaotic enemy ranks.

His movements were swift and ghostly, and the large sword he wielded blazed with flames. With each strike, fiery dragons danced wildly, wreaking havoc on the surrounding enemies.

Though Wang Chen could not control flying swords, the Seven Ultimate Great Sword contained the natural destructive power of the universe, greatly amplifying his spells and dealing devastating additional damage.

Even more fearsome was the sword itself—its immense weight and razor-sharp edge made it unstoppable.

Wherever Wang Chen went, he left a trail of blood and carnage.

Without hesitation, he trampled over the fallen bodies, charging straight toward the enemy’s command center!

There, not only the enemy’s highest commander awaited, but also a host of mages.

In an instant, Wang Chen cut through an entire squad of enemy warriors, his sword momentum surging as sword energy swept through the battlefield, obliterating everything in its path.

Bullets and feathered arrows aimed at him were deflected by an invisible force!
