Becoming a Big Shot in the Celestial Realm
Chapter 955
Chapter 955: Slaying Demons and Eliminating Evil (Continued Four)
“A lecher?”
When Duan Yongfeng informed Wang Chen that the man he had just apprehended was a notorious flower thief, Wang Chen was momentarily stunned.
This man stood eight feet tall with a waistline to match, making him an enormous figure, weighing at least over two hundred pounds.
It was astonishing that someone of such size would engage in the flower thief trade, and his nickname, “Young Master Huadie,” was indeed hard to fathom!
“Exactly!”
Duan Yongfeng pointed at the face of the young man in the brocade robe and said, “This is Young Master Huadie’s natural birthmark. I’ve seen his capture warrants before; even if he gained another fifty pounds, I could still recognize him!”
Wang Chen nodded—this man had a dark red birthmark on his left cheek resembling a butterfly; without the human skin mask, he would be easily identified.
“Young Master Huadie is best known for his disguises and has been missing for several years.”
Duan Yongfeng sighed, “I didn’t expect he would be hiding in Guangping County. Fortunately, you, my lord, have sharp eyes and did not let this scoundrel slip away!”
The Zongqi of the Blood Guard held Wang Chen in the highest regard.
In fact, he too had not anticipated that the once elegant Young Master Huadie would become so grotesquely obese.
Clearly, it was all intentional.
Duan Yongfeng excitedly rubbed his hands together, “My lord, this is quite a big catch!”
Capturing Young Master Huadie was indeed a significant achievement.
In the past, Young Master Huadie had roamed through several counties using his skills in disguise, committing numerous crimes. His victims included common people, daughters of officials, and even young ladies from powerful families.
After committing his acts, he would leave behind a paper flower butterfly as his signature. His methods were meticulous, and he had never been caught, which had sparked immense public outrage.
Both the authorities and the families of the victims despised him intensely, offering a substantial reward for his capture.
As the saying goes, under a heavy reward, there are bound to be brave men; Young Master Huadie had once nearly been captured, after which he completely vanished from sight.
He had not committed any crimes since.
However, a person like him would never be content to live in obscurity. His appearance at the Peony Pavilion was indeed unexpected yet not entirely beyond reason!
“Now I see.”
Wang Chen nodded, “Since he is an unforgivable lecher, let’s first strip him of his martial arts, then take away his manhood, and imprison him for proper punishment.”
Such a vile character deserved at least the death penalty!
“Yes!”
Duan Yongfeng immediately drew his dagger and revealed a sinister grin at Young Master Huadie.
“No, please don’t!”
The Young Master Huadie on the ground let out a pig-like scream, “M-master! I want to redeem myself; I want to report the demons! I know who in the Peony Pavilion has been possessed by a demon, and I also know about the tunnel in the Peony Pavilion!”
A tunnel?
Wang Chen and Duan Yongfeng exchanged glances, and the latter immediately stepped heavily on Young Master Huadie’s manhood without hesitation.
“Ugh—”
In pain, Young Master Huadie’s eyes rolled back, blood foam pouring from his mouth, as he desperately hunched his large body, looking as miserable as ever.
Duan Yongfeng crouched down and gestured toward Young Master Huadie’s lower body, saying, “If you cooperate honestly, we’ll spare this part of you for now. But if you try anything sneaky…”
“No, I wouldn’t dare,” Young Master Huadie stammered through clenched teeth. “I-I’ll take you there right now.”
Duan Yongfeng yanked him to his feet. “Move it!”
With the new development, the guards immediately resealed the main gate and halted all inspections.
Wang Chen, accompanied by Duan Yongfeng and the others, reentered the Peony Pavilion.
The Peony Pavilion was still bustling with guests, their anxiety palpable. When the fierce-looking Blood Guard stormed in, the crowd exchanged uneasy glances.
The hidden chamber Young Master Huadie had mentioned was ingeniously concealed beside a rockery near the flower pool behind the main building.
As the lecherous master pulled the lever, a rumbling sound echoed, and a dark entrance emerged beneath the rockery.
Such a secret location was typically known only to the highest echelons of the Peony Pavilion, leaving it a mystery how Young Master Huadie had come to know of it.
Wang Chen had no interest in unraveling the truth. In a deep voice, he commanded, “Stay here and guard the entrance. I’ll go down and investigate.”
Duan Yongfeng hesitated. “My lord…”
Wang Chen waved him off and without hesitation descended into the tunnel.
The passage was narrow, barely wide enough for one person, and pitch-black. Wang Chen flicked his wrist, releasing a signal flare that burst into brilliant light, illuminating the long tunnel.
He crouched and moved swiftly, reaching the end of the tunnel in moments.
There, a thick stone door barred his way.
Unfazed, Wang Chen drew the Seven-Pronged Spear, extended it, and attached the Exterminating Demon Spearhead. Simultaneously, he activated the power of the Five Bloodshed Wheels.
With a powerful thrust, he drove the spear toward the stone door!
The spear shot forward like a dragon, its energy surging and effortlessly piercing the solid stone door.
“Break!” Wang Chen roared, and the surge of energy infused into the spearhead erupted with a mighty force.
Instantly, the thick stone door shattered into fragments, scattering debris and raising clouds of dust.
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
Some hidden mechanism was triggered, and a barrage of arrows shot out from the broken stone door.
Instead of retreating, Wang Chen charged forward, meeting the arrows head-on.
The arrows struck him but were deflected harmlessly by his protective armor.
Beyond the stone door, the space opened up into a vast, well-lit hidden chamber filled with large chests.
Some of the chests lay open, revealing their contents: gold, silver, and jewels!
But that wasn’t all. Inside the chamber stood five or six individuals, one of whom—a middle-aged man in a purple robe with a pale, beardless face—turned pale and barked, “Kill him!”
The group, clearly unprepared for an intruder, reacted swiftly, grabbing their weapons and surrounding Wang Chen with seamless coordination.
Meanwhile, the man in the purple robe took a few steps back, his expression shifting uneasily.
“Die!” Wang Chen bellowed, swinging his spear in a wide arc. The spearhead sliced through the air with deadly precision.
“Ah!” A bloodcurdling scream erupted as the first martial artist was cleaved in two, collapsing to the ground.
The others fared no better. They realized in horror that they stood no chance against Wang Chen’s spear—each clash meant certain death, and they couldn’t even block a single move!
In moments, all five skilled martial artists lay in pools of blood.
Wang Chen stepped forward, leveling his spear at the man in the purple robe. “Do you really think you can escape?”
The heat radiating from the Exterminating Demon Spearhead confirmed it: this man was a demon cloaked in human skin!
His identity was unmistakable—he was almost certainly the master of the Peony Pavilion.
But his fate was sealed.
The man in the purple robe’s face turned ashen as he stumbled back against the wall.
Suddenly, the panel behind him flipped open!
