Bite Your Fingertips
Chapter 25
Chu Yu took out another math paper.
He finished it in less than five minutes.
The moment he closed his pen, Chu Yu sighed. He felt like a scumbag who passed all the questions without a single problem.
He spun his pen and looked at the words printed on the paper. He remembered what Guan Yiyang said. Did his mother buy Jia Ning Private because she knew that he was useless?
A bitter feeling rose in his heart.
Chu Yu looked at the date and suddenly didn't dare to count how many days it had been since he last saw Shi Yaling.
Chu Yu put down his pen and went out.
Chu Yu stood at the door of the room next door. He raised his hand and put it down hesitantly. In the end, he gently knocked three times.
Soon, the door opened.
Chu Yu saw Lu Shi standing behind the door. He didn't know why, but his eyes felt a little sore.
He tried his best to curl his lips into a smile. "Are you busy now?
Can I — "
"Come in."
Chu Yu consciously closed the door and looked around.
This was his first time in Lu Shi's dormitory. He found that it was similar to what he had imagined. The overall style was very cold. Anyway, it was either white or gray.
The books on the bookshelf were arranged in order from the highest to the lowest, as if they had obsessive-compulsive disorder.
The quilt on the bed was neatly folded, and the floor was spotless.
When he compared it to his room, Chu Yu secretly comforted himself. My room just has a more lively atmosphere!
Lu Shi pointed to the chair next to the desk. "Sit."
Chu Yu sat down.
His sitting posture was very casual. His legs were spread apart, and he hugged the back of the chair. His chin was resting on his hand. He tilted his head and looked at Lu Shi as if he had no bones.
The desk lamp was on. There was a test paper spread out on the desk. It was almost half done.
Chu Yu said vaguely, "Do the questions. Don't worry about me."
Hearing Chu Yu's words, Lu Shi really did not care about him.
He held the pencil and continued to do the questions.
Chu Yu looked at Lu Shi quietly.
Lu Shi's silhouette was delicately outlined by the pen under the table lamp.
Eyes, nose, lips, jawline.
Like an oil painting, there was not a single spot that was not exquisite and beautiful.
His heart slowly settled down.
Chu Yu didn't know why, but after sitting beside Lu Shi for a while, he suddenly felt much more at ease.
After finishing the two questions, Lu Shi turned around and met Chu Yu's gaze.
"How long are you going to watch?"
Chu Yu was stunned by the question. Before he could answer, Lu Shi continued, "If I didn't let you in just now, were you going to stand at my door and cry?"
It was not a question, but a statement.
Chu Yu was furious. "Who?
Who wants to cry in front of your door?
Point it out and explain clearly! "
Lu Shi turned sideways and leaned lazily against the back of the chair. He raised his hand and pointed his fingertips at Chu Yu. There was a subtle smile in his voice. "Yes, I've pointed it out."
Chu Yu didn't know if it was an instinctive reaction or because he was too angry, but he moved forward and skillfully opened his mouth to bite Lu Shi's fingertips.
Wait, what am I doing?
Seeing Chu Yu's eyes widen subconsciously and his thick eyelashes fluttering, Lu Shi lowered his eyes and put his fingertips into Chu Yu's mouth a little. His voice was soft and hoarse, as if mixed with the dark night outside the window. "Are you hungry?"
When it entered Chu Yu's ears, his eardrums felt like they were being scratched by something. It was itchy.
Chu Yu felt a little strange and his heart beat faster.
He let go of his teeth and looked away uncomfortably. "Not … not hungry yet."
"Okay."
Lu Shi retracted his hand and asked, "Is there something you need from me?"
Chu Yu shook his head gently.
"Is there something you want to tell me?"
He shook his head again. After two seconds, Chu Yu nodded again.
"You should know by now, right?"
"About me calling you Dad?"
He didn't know why, but when Lu Shi said this, it felt inexplicably childish and a little shameful.
Chu Yu nodded and explained, "Actually, I didn't intend to talk to Guan Yiyang. After all, the school is getting bigger and we're bound to meet two idiots.
But … "
Lu Shi continued, "What did he say to make you so concerned?"
"How do you know what he said?"
Chu Yu sat up straight. His lips moved and he repeated the sentence with some difficulty. "Did your mom know that you're useless and that's why she spent money to buy the school?
That's what he said. "
"You care a lot?"
"Yes, I care a lot.
I should say that I care a lot more than I think. "
Chu Yu lay on his stomach unhappily. His gaze fell on the floor or somewhere in the air. "Actually, I don't really understand why my mom bought Jia Ning Private School."
He lowered his voice. "My brother and sister went to boarding schools overseas when they were in primary school. They successfully got into the top five universities in the world. They're the kind of outstanding students that people can only look up to.
They don't have any reference points, so I don't know if my mom would buy the school and let them go if my sister or brother didn't have good grades. "
He looked up and looked at Lu Shi. He couldn't suppress the fear in his eyes. "Lu Shi, I … I'm so scared."
He couldn't tell what he was afraid of.
He was already used to his mother's indifference to him, but when someone suggested another hypothesis, it felt as if a steel needle had pierced his heart.
He couldn't even find any evidence to prove that the other person's guess was wrong. He couldn't even find a good reason to refute it.
My mom didn't buy the school because she thought that I'm useless and useless.
Lu Shi released his fingers that were tightly gripping his sleeves one by one.
Chu Yu then realized that there was a row of fingernail marks on his palm.
"Chu Yu."
"Yes?"
The moment he looked up, a teardrop overflowed.
Chu Yu wanted to raise his hand to wipe away the evidence that he was crying.
But before he could do so, he realized that Lu Shi's fingertips had brushed past his eyes.
Lu Shi used the tip of her tongue to taste the wet mark. Her voice was very soft. "You're crying."
Chu Yu couldn't react in time.
His mind was replaying the scene that had just happened on a loop.
Lu Shi put her finger to her lips. The tip of her tongue stuck out and licked her fingertip, rolling away the tear.
His tear.
He even forgot about his sadness. Chu Yu stared at Lu Shi's finger in a daze. He didn't notice that Lu Shi's expression had turned cold because of his crying.
Lu Shi stood up. "Let me take you somewhere."
"Where are we going?"
There was no answer. Lu Shi reached out to pick up a thin black jacket and asked, "Do you want to go?"
Chu Yu nodded hurriedly. "Yes!"
Lu Shi threw the jacket in her hand to Chu Yu. She opened the wardrobe and took out a new jacket. "Let's go."
Chu Yu thought that Lu Shi was just taking him around the school.
When they stood under a low wall in a remote corner, Chu Yu couldn't remain calm. "Are we … going out?"
"Yes."
Lu Shi was agile. She went behind the low wall, squatted down, and extended her hand to Chu Yu. "Come."
There was a round bone protruding from her wrist. It was thin but very strong.
Chu Yu put his hand on it.
After jumping off the low wall, Chu Yu suddenly remembered. "Won't we be caught by the surveillance cameras?"
"No, the surveillance wires are damaged. The school workers didn't connect a new wire and installed a new surveillance camera at another location. This place has become a blind spot."
Chu Yu didn't ask any more questions. He wrapped Lu Shi's thin jacket around himself and followed.
The two of them hailed a taxi. After getting out of the car, Lu Shi led Chu Yu through the narrow alley with familiarity. They stopped by a small door and spoke to the person inside. "I'm here to get the keys."
The person inside handed a bunch of keys to Lu Shi. "Brother Lie said that you can play with it for a few days if you want to."
Chu Yu listened for a while and understood. In the taxi just now, Lu Shi called Brother Lie.
But what exactly did he borrow?
After taking the keys, they went to the back of the building. Lu Shi walked to a corner and reached out to pull down a black waterproof tarpaulin.
Under the tarpaulin was a heavy-duty motorcycle with a steel seat. The tail line was strong, and the design was simple. It was pure and strong.
The motorcycle was painted black and some parts were covered with silver powder.
Chu Yu's eyes lit up. "Is this a 'Tomahawk'?"
"No, it's a modified version of a Tomahawk." Lu Shi placed his long legs on the ground and stepped onto the motorcycle. He ordered, "Come up."
Chu Yu sat at the back.
He had consciously given up on asking Lu Shi if he had a driver's license.
Lu Shi slowly put on the silver and black gloves. He lowered his eyelids and asked Chu Yu, "Do you know what to do when you're in a bad mood?"
"What to do?"
"Let it out."
The moment he finished speaking, the engine suddenly roared. The entire Tomahawk sped out like a sharp arrow piercing through the wind!
Chu Yu was pushed back by the force. He was so scared that he quickly hugged Lu Shi's waist tightly.
The wind was very strong. Chu Yu took a while to get used to it. He closed his eyes. When he opened his mouth, his mouth was filled with the wind. "Are we going to … the abandoned road from last time?"
His ear was pressed against Lu Shi's back. He could feel the warmth of Lu Shi's skin and the slight tremor in his chest when he responded.
The underground race track was on an abandoned road. It was surrounded by barren land.
Without the noise of the crowd, the surroundings seemed empty and quiet.
The light from the street lamps stretched far into the distance. There was nothing but the whistling of the wind.
Lu Shi stopped the motorcycle in the middle of the starting point. Then, he got out of the motorcycle.
Chu Yu was confused. "Lu Shi?"
Lu Shi took off the silver and black gloves and threw them to Chu Yu.
Chu Yu quickly caught them. "You —"
He suddenly realized what was going on. "You- you want me to drive?"
Lu Shi put his hands in his pockets and stood very straight. His naturally hanging hair was blown up by the wind. He lifted his chin and asked, "You know how to drive a motorcycle, right?"
Chu Yu nodded. "Yes, I do, but —"
How could driving an ordinary motorcycle be the same as driving a modified car?!
Lu Shi asked Chu Yu to sit in front. He squatted down and carefully adjusted the height of the seat and the position of the controls. After making sure that there were no problems, he got up and sat behind Chu Yu.
Their chests were pressed against each other.
They were so close that they could feel each other's heartbeat.
"Lu Shi —"
Lu Shi's chin rubbed against Chu Yu's shoulder. He leaned close to his ear and said in a low voice, "Don't be afraid. I'm here."
After saying that, he reached out from his waist and helped Chu Yu put on the gloves.
Then, he held Chu Yu's hand and placed it on the motorcycle's handlebars.
His throat was dry and itchy, and his breathing was heavy. Chu Yu couldn't tell if it was because he was too nervous and excited, or because he was thirsty for blood.
Or perhaps, it was both.
Lu Shi put the helmet on Chu Yu's head.
It was as if a switch in his body had been turned on. Chu Yu gripped the clutch tightly.
The rubber tires rubbed against the ground, and the motorcycle only shook slightly.
Through the helmet's windshield, everything became blurry. The warm light from the street lamps on both sides of the road turned into lines and disappeared behind his vision.
The moment the motorcycle reached its highest speed, Chu Yu felt as if his whole body was being pulled up by the airflow. It was as if a pair of wings had grown out of his back. The huge lift effect made him feel as if he was about to be suspended in the air!
At that moment, all the grievances, confusion, sadness, and sadness were scattered with the roar of the engine in his ears!
Chu Yu let go of the handlebars and panted heavily in the helmet.
He felt as if all the blood in his body was flowing backward, and his blood vessels were about to burst. His chest tightened, and he felt as if he was going to suffocate in the next second. It was as if he was on the verge of death!
The helmet was taken off.
The wind in the wilderness brought in enough oxygen. Chu Yu's soft forehead hair was already wet with sweat and stuck to his forehead. When the wind brushed past, it left a chill.
However, his eyes were very bright, as if they contained the stars in the sky.
Lu Shi stood beside the motorcycle, holding the helmet in his hand. He asked him, "Are you still sad?"
At this moment, the wilderness and the falling sky became his background.
Chu Yu looked at Lu Shi.
The next second, his sore and weak hands grabbed Lu Shi's jacket. He straightened up and climbed up. His lips pressed tightly against the lines of Lu Shi's shoulder and neck, and he bit down.
There was a sharp pain in his shoulder, and it was heavier than usual.
Lu Shi raised his hand and shielded the person in front of him.
"Be gentle."
There was a slight hoarseness in his voice. Lu Shi said again, "Forget it. It's up to you."
