Conversion ~ After Story ~

Chapter 1

University of Palermo.

The summer breeze rustled the leaves and only the chirping of cicadas could be heard.

Summer was the season for water. The white clouds couldn't stand the heat and changed color.

As a result, large raindrops fell from the sky with cheerful footsteps, cheering as they poured down, forming a unique scenery.

After the heavy rain, the air was fresh and there was a rainbow in the sky.

At this time, raindrops were still falling from the eaves, splashing into the large and small puddles on the ground.

I propped my head up and flipped through the prepared lessons. The corners of my lips curled up. I only used four years to graduate from the University of Palermo. I also promised the professor that I would stay in the school to teach, and this was just the beginning.

I glanced at the orchids on the windowsill and got up to pack up and leave. I only looked outside the door when I heard a familiar voice.

The young man outside the door wore a blue shirt with a pair of ripped jeans. Coupled with his flirtatious silver hair, it wouldn't be an exaggeration to call him a 'monster'.

"Prynne, I remember you guys have classes in the afternoon." I glanced at the class schedule on the corner of the table and looked up at him.

"I know." Prynne said with a smile, but he didn't forget to take out a few cotton candy and stuff it in his mouth.

I had always been helpless against Prynne, so I left with him after packing up.

I knew very well how outstanding the people around me were.

Now, not only was he an 'outstanding student' at the University of Palermo, he was also the leader of a family.

I was even more glad that Prynne was just Prynne and no longer the 'villain' who wanted to change and rule the world.

But in these four years in Palermo, other than being taken care of by Nindaime, I was mostly taken care of by Prynne. On this huge campus, he was the only one who knew that I was a Mafia.

And I couldn't get rid of my identity as a Mafia.

Maybe it was from the moment he appeared, or from the moment I decided to come to this world.

Everything had a new set of rules.

"Xiao Ying, are you thinking about Godera-kun again?"

Hearing Prynne's voice, I turned to look at him. "I'm thinking that four years have passed so quickly!"

It was almost there. Before I could savor it, time had already slipped through my fingers. I had already lived in this world for four years.

"Godera-kun's graduation ceremony is on the 23rd. Didn't he tell you?" Prynne didn't forget to stuff cotton candy into his mouth as he drove.

"Hayato already told me. I booked a flight ticket for tonight, and I'll arrive in Heisheng on the morning of the 23rd." Looking at the side of Prynne's face, I smiled and said, "You two aren't the same person after all."

I knew that Prynne could understand the meaning behind my words. He definitely wouldn't want to rule the world now because he was no longer alone.

"Xiao Ying, I'm no longer alone." Prynne turned to look at me with a satisfied smile on his face.

Hearing Prynne's slightly raised tone, I turned to look at the familiar campus scenery outside the window. "Prynne, thank you for taking care of me for the past four years."

"Xiao Ying also made a lot of desserts for me."

How should I describe the relationship between Prynne and I?

Rather than a cohabitation relationship, it would be better to say that we were living together.

That's right, with my excellent cooking skills, not only did I get the recognition of Xanxus, but I also got the boss of Jessos, Prynne Jessos, to live in my apartment.

When I turned on my phone, it clearly showed that it was Friday.

Friday and the weekend were the days that Nindaime and I agreed to go back to the headquarters for a meal together.

"Prynne, take me to Penglei Headquarters. As usual, I'll have dinner with Grandpa and the others tonight."

I lived alone in Palermo for four years, and Nindaime had always taken care of me. Because I didn't want more people to know that I was a Mafia, Nindaime didn't force me to attend Mafia School. Although Xanxus was dissatisfied, he didn't stop it in the end.

"It's Friday today. I forgot!" Prynne glanced at the GPS and said with a smile.

His tone suddenly changed and became serious. "If it's Xiao Ying, why do you like Godera-kun?"

Hearing Prynne's serious tone, I suddenly didn't know how to answer this question.

For some reason, I thought of Prynne's ability to share parallel worlds, but I couldn't bring myself to ask.

So what if we knew the future?

We still couldn't change the future. All we could do now was to cherish the people in front of us.

* * *

Penglei Headquarters was located in the suburbs of Palermo.

Under the cover of the green trees, I could see an ancient castle surrounded by roses. The gray walls were covered with morning glories. It was hard to imagine that a group of Mafia lived here.

After I got off the car, I took a small path to the headquarters. I discovered this path by accident, and Nindaime's office was at the end of the path.

I was already familiar with the people in the headquarters. They all greeted me with a smile, and I responded with a smile.

However, in this peaceful atmosphere, there was always something discordant. I could feel the killing intent coming from behind me. In the blink of an eye, the whip in my hand had already smashed something into the ground.

"Well done."

Hearing the familiar voice, I put my hand to my forehead. "Sister Lal, it seems that every time I come back, you've always welcomed me in this way."

Lars, Penglie's external consultant, was also a Child of the Rainbow. She was the only one of the Children of the Rainbow who had returned to human form.

Uncle Chuanping said that everyone was born with their own mission, and it was even more so for those who were chosen to be the guardians of the Rainbow Pacifiers.

"Ah Ying, you've grown up." Lars crossed her arms and looked at me with a smile.

I looked up at the blue sky. The sunlight shone into the forest and covered my shadow.

In this world, the only thing I could do was to think about how to survive.

I was no longer the person I was four years ago. Maybe I was the same person, but my state of mind was different.

"Sister Lal, everyone has to learn to grow up." I looked at the woman beside me and smiled gently.

Lars raised her hand and rubbed my hair. "Ah Ying is now a qualified Mafia."

Lars and I walked to the headquarters together. But as soon as we stepped into the headquarters, we were greeted by an exquisite throwing knife and a strange laughter.

"Bell, is this how you welcome me home?" I looked up at Bell who was sitting on the sofa and shrugged helplessly.

"Pfft, boring," Bell said with a look of disdain.

I was already used to Bell's cold reaction. It would be strange if he ever welcomed me home.

"Xiao Ying is home. As your mother, I'm very happy."

I was very familiar with this voice. Although I had corrected him many times that I didn't like such an intimate address, he didn't seem to have any intention of changing it.

"Sis, I haven't seen you for a week and you've got freckles again." I looked at the person in front of me and complained expressionlessly.

After hearing my words, he immediately took out a mirror and looked at himself, complaining that I had lied to him.

I quickly glanced around. Xanxus wasn't here, Scuvaro wasn't here, and Mammon Moneybags wasn't here either. As for Flin, he probably hid somewhere to sleep.

"Xiao Ying, you're back. Nindaime was just talking about you."

Hearing this voice, I looked up at the source of the voice. "Iemitsu, Papa, good day."

"It would be great if Ah Gang could be like you."

"Tōkun would also become an outstanding boss."

Hearing my words, his lips carried the usual gentleness that I was familiar with. He patted my shoulder. "Go, Nindaime is waiting for you."

I respected the person in front of me from the bottom of my heart. After coming here, he had always taken care of me.

He also tacitly agreed to call me "Papa". Maybe he didn't want me to be so lonely.

After pushing open the office door, I saw a familiar figure leaning over the desk, reading something. The dog, who was resting in front of the desk, seemed to smell a familiar scent. He happily ran to me, the bell on his neck jingling.

"Michaux, you're too naughty." I looked at Michaux who was lying on top of me and gently stroked his fur.

"Xiao Ying, you're here."

Hearing Nindaime's voice, I patted Michaux's head and walked behind Nindaime to massage his back. "Grandpa, I haven't seen you for a few days. I miss you."

Nindaime always enjoyed this kind of time. Feeling the strength on his shoulder, he said, "Reborn called yesterday and said that Tōkun and the others' graduation ceremony on the 23rd. He wants you to go back and attend it."

I didn't stop what I was doing because of Nindaime's words.

It was Reborn's arrangement. To be honest, I wasn't surprised at all. When they graduated, I missed their graduation ceremony because I was taking exams.

"Reborn sensei is still the same."

Although the curse of the rainbow has been broken, they will have to experience growth again. But for them, this is another kind of rebirth.

"Reborn also doesn't want you to get involved in the Mafia world too early." Nindaime said and patted my hand, "Maybe he also wants you to experience the school life."

"Grandpa, I'm lucky to be able to stay by your side."

Nindaime listened to my words and patted the back of my hand, "Iemitsu and I have already discussed it. We'll let Tsunayoshi-kun and the others go to school in Italy and enroll them in the University of Palermo."

"Okay, Prynne has been staying in school for a long time, so we can take care of each other in the future.

I can also get my graduation certificate today, but I promised Professor Sid that I'll stay in school to teach. "

"Xiao Ying, I heard from Yuyi that you and Prynne are living together."

Hearing Nindaime's words, my hand froze.

I didn't expect Yuyi to tell Nindaime about this. "Grandpa, Prynne is the same as Zio, he just likes my cooking."

"Xiao Ying, Yuyi will also come to eat with us tonight."

"If it's Zio, do you still want to prepare a medium-rare steak?"

I'm quite sensitive to Xanxus's taste.

But he's not too picky about my cooking. Even if I don't make steak, he still eats it with relish.

What's more, I really want to make Chinese food today.

"Xanxus said that as long as it's made by you, he's willing to eat it." Nindaime said with a gentle expression.

"Okay, I'll make something delicious for you guys tonight. I'll go downstairs to prepare the ingredients."

"Go."

After saying goodbye to Nindaime, I walked alone in the long corridor.

I've walked this path countless times in the past four years. The walls on both sides recorded the rise and fall of Penglie, and there were also portraits of the previous leaders.
