Cultivating Love
Chapter 1
London, September 1, 1991.
Eleven-year-old Hugh Spensee stood on platform 9 and 3/4, next to him was a bustling crowd.
Three seconds ago, he had watched his ticket turn into a paper crane and fly away.
"Oh, magic."
He sighed in admiration. Out of habit, he wanted to give himself a clean and new one, but he held back.
Having seen the luggage that was placed in an irregular manner in the luggage carriage, Hugh skillfully cast a shrinking spell on his luggage and put it in the pocket of his robe. Then, he carried his pet cat, Celie, and boarded the carriage.
The old steam train sounded its whistle, indicating that it was leaving the station. Amidst the rumbling sound, Hugh clearly realized that from this moment on, he was getting further and further away from the so-called Muggle world.
Hogwarts?
It shouldn't disappoint me, Hugh thought.
"Excuse me, maybe you don't mind if I temporarily commandeer this carriage."
A lazy and somewhat oppressive voice sounded. Hugh stopped his train of thought and quickly sized up the person who came.
The most eye-catching thing about her wasn't her delicate face or her shining silver-gray eyes, but her platinum hair that was neatly styled with hair gel. Even the pitch-black school uniform couldn't hide her beauty.
"Draco." Hugh flipped through the little golden head's name in his mind and said with a smile, "What a coincidence."
"Good afternoon, Hugh." Although he was madly cursing this damn train that was still blowing its whistle and this crude and messy carriage, Draco Malfoy, who was also eleven years old, never allowed himself to make the slightest mistake in etiquette.
"Maybe I can imagine that Hugh has already thought about which academy to choose?" The silent atmosphere in the carriage was too awkward. It was very rude and not Malfoy.
Therefore, Draco spoke first.
In Hugh's eyes, although Draco had no malice, he still had a faint sense of oppression.
Of course, in view of the Spensee family's teachings, Hugh was neither servile nor overbearing, so he did not fall behind in his conversation with Draco.
"If I'm not mistaken, it's Slytherin Academy, Draco.
Green always makes people happy. "The corner of Xiu's mouth curled up, revealing a" you know what I mean "expression.
"Oh, that's right, Hugh. Look at this carriage full of red curtains, it's really irritating." Draco could not agree more, for such decorations were really a great sin.
In fact, this carriage had long been "cleaned up" by Xiu. Perhaps this was also the reason why the picky Draco Malfoy would condescend to choose this carriage. Who would have thought that he would accidentally bump into Xiu's carriage?
Just as Xiu was about to give the ancient cloth a final blow, a clear female voice interrupted his thoughts, "Excuse me, did anyone see a toad?
Neville's toad is gone. "
The girl's eyes were bright and full of vitality. Xiu unconsciously softened his tone: "It's a pity that I didn't see this beautiful lady, but if you need her, I think she can help."
Xiu held the silver-white cat with different eyes in his arms to his chest and said: "This is Celie. I think she will be very happy that you called her Celie."
The girl blushed when she heard the handsome young man say "beautiful lady". She waved her hand and said: "Thank you, sir, but there's no need. I'll go to the other carriages to ask. Goodbye."
Looking at the girl's departing back, Xiu swallowed the "good luck" that was on the tip of his tongue.
He looked up and saw the little golden head opposite him looking at him with shining eyes, or rather Celie in his arms.
"Hey, her eyes are so beautiful." The little golden head's face did not move. His mouth was full of praise, but his body was honestly eager to try.
Xiu lifted Celie up to face Draco, "Yes, very beautiful.
My hands are a little sore. Maybe the kind Draco can help me hold her? "
Malfoy pretended to be reserved for two seconds, coughed and said: "Sharing your worries, my friend." Then he carefully took the White Dumpling.
"My sincerest thanks to you, my friend."
Xiu returned a noble knight's salute: "Celie is very obedient. She doesn't reject people and doesn't like to meow. I like to take her with me on many occasions."
"Oh, good boy. That's great, Celie."
Draco was addicted to stroking the cat. Xiu simply took out the unfinished book from his luggage and read it.
Time passed by while Draco stroked the cat and read the book.
Xiu saw that it was almost time. He changed into his school robe. The black robe made him look a few years older.
Draco changed into his robe and boarded the train. Seeing this scene, he reluctantly returned Celie to Xiu, tidied up his clothes and prepared to get off the train.
"Happy journey, Xiu." Before parting, Draco stretched out his hand of friendship, which seemed to be more sincere.
Xiu held Draco's hand: "See you at the Slytherin Long Table, Draco."
The night was charming. The old steam train let out a loud whistle and stopped at the platform.
It indicated that another batch of freshmen had followed the guidance and finally saw this ancient and mysterious magic school.
The originally restless mood slowly calmed down.
Hogwarts, we're coming!
When Xiu caught up with the crowd with the struggling Celie in his arms, a certain golden head, who had just said that he would see her at the Slytherin Long Table, was in the center of the storm.
The little golden head seemed to be enduring something. The originally pale face had lost all color, and the hand of friendship was trembling.
"Oh, that's great. Draco, you're here. Maybe you don't mind giving your poor friend a hand. I can't hold Celie anymore."
The slightly anxious situation was broken. The main characters of the unhappy incident turned to look at the person who spoke. It was a delicate and pretty boy. His soft black short hair hung down obediently, and his eyes of the same color were shining. He was holding a pure white cat with different eyes that was struggling in his arms. There was a troubled smile on his face, and he looked pure and harmless.
Draco saw that Xiu was holding the White Dumpling in a somewhat embarrassed manner and showed a helpless smile. He reached out to catch the cat: "Spensee, quickly give Celie to me. Be careful not to drop her."
Xiu cooperatively handed Celie to Draco. When Draco was not looking, Xiu gave a small glance to his friend, Harry, who had a small argument with Draco.
Then he turned to him and explained that Celie had been hit by a little fatty on the same boat and almost fell into the river. Now she was struggling and throwing a tantrum.
Draco held the tired Celie with one hand and stroked the neck of the White Dumpling with the other. "Oh, poor Celie." The cat gradually calmed down.
Draco looked at Xiu with undisguised pride in his eyes, as if he had forgotten the unhappiness just now.
When he followed Professor Mcgonagall to the auditorium, Xiu happened to be side by side with Harry.
He took the initiative to reach out his hand: "Hey, Harry.
That golden head just now is my friend. Although I don't know what happened between you, I apologize on his behalf. "
Harry was never stingy with the friends he recognized. He shook Xiu's hand: "Oh, don't mind.
Xiu.
He was just a little harsh with his words. "
Then he quietly added: "I just didn't expect him to be your friend. I mean, you don't look very similar.
Oh, I don't mean any harm. "
Xiu calmly looked back at the little golden head: "He, ah, is a guy who doesn't mean what he says." Then he showed a helpless expression, which directly made Harry laugh.
In the mysterious and splendid auditorium decorated with magic, Vice-Principal Professor Mcgonagall unhurriedly read out the names. When it was Harry's turn, there was a lot of noise and astonishment around him.
"Good luck, Harry." Xiu squeezed Harry's hand.
Harry nodded back at him and walked forward with his chest puffed out. He didn't have to be in a deadlock with the sorting hat for too long to understand where he was going – his parents' school, which was also the symbol of courage, Gryffindor.
In fact, this result was not surprising at all.
Just like the Black family, it was hard to find a descendant who wasn't Slytherin in hundreds of years. Oh, this Black family that was hard to find in hundreds of years had probably entered the school around this time twenty years ago.
Although it was unknown why the Potter family had gone into seclusion a few generations ago, those who knew a little about them knew that they were a pure Gryffindor family.
Xiu looked at the cheering Gryffindor Academy table. "Hey!
We have Harry Potter! "He couldn't help but laugh.
When it was Draco's turn, he stroked his school uniform robe and calmly stood in line. Then he sat on a high stool, as if he was performing some strange ceremony.
The hat almost didn't touch his beautiful platinum hair before he shouted out: "Slytherin!"
As expected, he got what he wanted.
When Draco came down from the high stool, he jumped to the ground. He obviously breathed a sigh of relief and revealed a smile. Even Professor Snape, the Dean of Slytherin, who had always been expressionless, applauded.
The order of the names on the list was unknown, but it didn't give Xiu too much time to be distracted. After Draco's name, it was his turn to be called.
"Oh, let the old guy take a look.
Bravery pass, outstanding intelligence, full of ambition.
You're not a child who cares about family background. Ravenstrau is a good choice, or Slytherin can also be a good choice for you. "
He didn't know what kind of secret technique was used, but the hat, who had been called a "broken hat" for hundreds of years, could communicate with people through his consciousness. This kind of fun and practical magic, Xiu really wanted to learn.
But now he didn't have time to think about this nonsense. The problem now was which school to go to next.
"Thank you. The soul of Slytherin will never be afraid to be a Slytherin."
Xiu didn't show it on his face, but he actually felt that his words were very cool. He had seen it in his grandfather's notes and wanted to say it for a long time.
It was a pity that such cool words could only be heard by the Sorting Hat.
If the hat had arms, he would be baring his fangs and brandishing his claws. Then he shouted: "As you wish, Slytherin!" Of course, only Xiu could hear the first half of the sentence.
With the result, there were bursts of congratulatory applause and good-natured whistles all around.
Xiu inadvertently glanced at the professor's seat and just happened to see Principal Dumbledore looking at him with a smile. When he came to the Slytherin Long Table, Draco had already given him a reserved welcome and vacated the seat on his left, indicating that he should come and sit.
Xiu returned Draco's nod and looked at the beautiful girl with a delicate face and soft short hair on his right.
The girl had been looking at him all this time. Now that the two people's eyes met, she didn't dodge and openly showed a sweet smile.
What a lovely girl, Xiu thought. He had a hunch that they would become friends sooner or later.
