Dragon Rider Warplane
Chapter 765
Chapter 765: A Scholar Meets Soldiers
Under the stern orders of leader Omar, not a single subordinate dared to step out of line. The Kurdish people were fierce, and this leader meant business. No one would dare to place their paw prints on this fighter jet.
In the past, the flying machines that had arrived were mostly slightly used helicopters; they had never seen a fighter jet of this caliber land here. Even the faces of the Kurdish forces glowed with pride, and the sleek black body with swept-back wings made them envious.
Omar had forgotten about one little captive among the visitors. The fourth squad and the accompanying Kurdish forces certainly did not dare to approach the aircraft, but a girl named Maisha Wright paid no heed to Omar’s warning.
At her age, she should have been indulging in snacks and sleep, but she resisted the temptations and, with her laptop and some snacks hidden on her person, made her way over to the variable wings fighter jet parked on the flat ground.
It was clear enough; this little girl was up to the same mischief as she had done with the "Ya Zi-2" previously.
Omar’s loyal subordinates were at a loss about how to handle this blonde girl. They still considered her a guest since she wasn’t tied up or shackled, and they didn’t worry about her escaping. Naturally, Omar treated her as one of the guests, not realizing that this audacious little girl was actually a captive.
This girl, not yet a teenager, was brought in by the soldiers, and even if Omar spoke the truth, he couldn’t fathom how she could be a threat in such a short time without any weapons.
Was she planning to smash someone with her laptop? Please!
Of course, Omar and his men, who had never experienced true high-tech, could not imagine such possibilities.
It was not malicious; rather, it was pure technical curiosity. All fighter jets boasted onboard computers, the more advanced, the more complex their functions, and “monstrous” was no exception. Maisha Wright loved to challenge all high-tech devices.
If it weren’t for that, she wouldn’t have been controlled by her previous organization, used as a technical expert in their operation team.
The signal lights on the X-8 "monstrous" blinked, clearly reacting to the signals emitted by the equipment in her hands. This startled the Dragon Knight as well.
He did not believe it was mere luck; this girl had real technical skills.
“Hey, you little girl! How dare you do something so sneaky without the owner’s permission?”
Lin Mo scowled and picked up the little blonde girl by the scruff of her neck as if she were a kitten.
All his vehicles had a common security feature—similar to a car lock—and the unlocking mechanism had corresponding remote keys. This was purely the Dragon Knight’s quirky habit. Anyone who heard the sound would think it was locking a private car.
If this little girl cracked all of it, how would he manage?
“Hey, what are you doing? I was just about to hack it! Don’t interrupt me!” the girl flailed in the air, stubbornly gripping her electronic signal gun and laptop.
Even when lifted off the ground, she remained immersed in her technical world, leaving Lin Mo speechless.
He snatched the laptop from her and tossed it onto the wing, turning the girl around and saying fiercely, “What was your name again? Ma-something? Here’s a warning: this is my aircraft, no messing around! If you break anything, hmph, I’ll toss you off the mountain!”
Lin Mo didn’t want his hard-earned high-performance fighter jet to be damaged by this little girl, especially since she had a history of mischief.
“You’re such an idiot for forgetting my name! Remember it, I’m Maisha Wright! I, I…”
Like an angry little cat, she shouted in frustration, following Lin Mo’s gaze to the rocky hillside. Maisha’s eyes widened, and she finally snapped to attention, shivering at the thought of falling down a slope with no chance of coming back unscathed.
When technology met violence, it often ended up like this.
Unsurprisingly, the little girl softened.
“Ha ha! ‘Dragon Knight,’ you’re in good spirits this early morning!” Squadron Leader Zhang Zhenyu, known as "Avanti," happened to see Lin Mo catching Little Chicken, teasing him while holding food.
“Good morning! ‘Avanti’!”
Lin Mo held the little girl, and whether intentional or not, Maisha Wright gritted her teeth, desperately trying to grab her laptop on the wing. But she always fell short by a couple of inches and couldn’t reach it.
“Are you interrogating the captive?”
Squadron Leader Zhang Zhenyu raised his chin, watching with amusement. His attention was focused on the little girl, seemingly interested in whatever trouble she had caused for Lin Mo.
Lin Mo shook his head and said, “Interrogation is not my job; this little girl has too much destructive power. If I hadn’t arrived early, my fighter jet might have been hijacked by her.”
He said this deliberately to sound serious. In truth, even if the girl managed to deal with the onboard native system, she wouldn’t get past the gold giant dragon, who was skilled in physical changes. It could secretly alter the circuits, making the original drive useless. No matter how skilled a technician was, they couldn’t keep track of the densely packed and incredibly complex circuit changes all the time.
“Wow! So impressive?”
Squadron Leader Zhang Zhenyu was surprised. He hadn’t expected the captive Lin Mo had caught to be so dangerous. Although he had asked for the girl’s name during the journey, he didn’t realize her skills were so advanced that she could hack into the aircraft’s control system. It truly proves that you can’t judge a book by its cover.
“Did she damage your fighter jet?”
Squadron Leader Zhang Zhenyu became anxious, worried that something would go wrong. Lin Mo was their strongest combat force and the most reliable security guarantee.
He realized they should have confiscated her laptop, as high-tech captives were indeed something ordinary people couldn’t handle. No room for carelessness at all.
Lin Mo glanced at his variable wings fighter jet and said, “Fortunately, nothing happened. She wouldn’t have enough time to hack it.”
Upon hearing this, Maisha Wright protested, struggling and shouting, “Who said that? Give me an hour, and I can 100% invade your aircraft!”
While this little girl had extraordinary technical skills, she didn’t realize she was facing not just a fighter jet, but a living creature hiding within it.
The main body of the gold giant dragon remained inside the aircraft while a separate part curled around Lin Mo’s left wrist.
Since this young girl hadn’t created any substantial results, the Gold Coin hadn’t notified Lin Mo, merely observing her curiosity as she tinkered. The fighter jet’s response was merely activating the link lock’s receiver port; it was far from being fully connected.
“Due to your disobedience, I’m confiscating your laptop!” To avoid any unforeseen issues, Lin Mo let go of Maisha Wright, took a step back, and shut down the laptop that was on the wing. He then folded it and turned to Squadron Leader Zhang Zhenyu, saying, “When will your support team arrive?”
“Give it back! That’s my personal property; you can’t take it! If you don’t return it, you’ll regret this… Please, just give it back! I won’t cause any more trouble…”
After having her laptop snatched away, Maisha Wright resembled a little tiger with its claws pulled, her eyes filled with tears as she lunged at Lin Mo, trying to reclaim her laptop.
There was no way she could match the Dragon Knight. With a single hand resting on her little head, he easily kept her at bay, and she couldn’t reach her beloved laptop no matter how she struggled.
Lin Mo was entirely unconcerned by her pleas or threats. They held no power over him.
Without tools, could she really mimic dialing sounds with her mouth? Did she think she was Kevin Mitnick?
Digital systems did not have the same inexplicable loopholes as old pulse systems.
He called over a fourth squad soldier, handing the laptop to him for strict oversight. Lin Mo had complete trust in any of the Special Forces soldiers; they were disciplined professionals.
There’s a saying in this world, isn’t there? A scholar meets a soldier, and reason can’t be expressed clearly.
Without Lin Mo’s permission, Maisha Wright had no chance of getting her tools back.
“Hey! That’s my laptop! Give it back!”
Just as Lin Mo had expected, like a dog chasing a bone, Maisha Wright abandoned her pursuit of Lin Mo and tearfully chased after her precious laptop, not forgetting to glare at Lin Mo fiercely. If looks could kill, the “Dragon General” armor would surely have been penetrated.
“You rascal!” Squadron Leader Zhang Zhenyu shook his head with a helpless smile at Lin Mo’s methods. It seemed the fourth squad was going to be restless again. He then returned to the topic at hand, saying, “The remaining four teams won’t arrive until the day after tomorrow. The domestic helicopter to bring back the injured won’t reach here until the day after tomorrow as well. The mech pilots’ conditions are stable; thankfully, we didn’t have any casualties.”
He looked around at his team. The “Dragon Guard” armor was riddled with bullet marks, and had it not been for their strong defense capabilities, they could have suffered severe losses after falling into a trap.
They were fortunate to have equipped the “Dragon Guard” digital tactical armor in time, preventing them from becoming entirely passive. Otherwise, this mission could have become the most catastrophic loss since the establishment of the fourth squad.
The fourth squad did not lack medical experts, and allowing the injured “Ya Zi-2” combat-powered armor pilot to rest for a couple of days at this Kurdish stronghold was not a bad thing.
Although Lin Mo’s fighter jet could return to the country in a short time, the high overload on the aircraft would not be beneficial for the injured, who could only wait for a new transport helicopter from the country to arrive.
“Hey! Calling the captain, this is ‘Fire Eye,’ please respond. We’re in a bind! Coordinates…”
While Lin Mo and Squadron Leader Zhang Zhenyu were talking, they both suddenly heard a call coming through the satellite-linked communication channel.
Squadron Leader Zhang Zhenyu shot Lin Mo a knowing look, as if to say, “I’ve already taken the blame for you; it’s time for you to pay up.”
Beep beep!
The X-8 “monstrous” variable wings fighter jet emitted a sound similar to that of a car unlocking.
