Dragon Rider Warplane
Chapter 814
Chapter 814: The Mantis Catches the Cicada
Good horses are often found, but a good trainer is hard to come by.
In this world dominated by technological civilization, Lin Mo naturally understood the importance of talented individuals in technology.
The gold giant dragon, which accepted this world’s electronic technology system, had always been Lin Mo’s best ally. Even though the two often clashed due to differing opinions, without the mischievous and stubborn Gold Coin, it would have been nearly impossible for Lin Mo to create a high-performance fighter jet in just a few years.
After experiencing the sweetness of technology, Lin Mo realized the helplessness of going it alone. Whenever he encountered top talents, he felt an impulse to capture them for his own use.
While on a mission in Turkey, a defenseless tech-savvy little girl was captured by Lin Mo like a hawk catching Little Chicken and brought into the Night Special Forces, where she now tirelessly developed programs for him.
Making friends with a promising scientist, while he couldn’t directly capture someone like the blonde tech-savvy little girl, in the internet era, the once vast distance of tens of thousands of miles felt like a small village. If he needed anything good or faced technical problems in the future, Bob would surely not hesitate to help, given the huge favor owed.
For the Dragon Knight, there was almost no cost. He only needed to expend some effort to retrieve the items from Tiger Energy.
The Dragon Knight’s job was to solve problems with force. Why would he fear the other party resorting to illegal means?
Could Tiger Energy really be stronger than Lockheed? In the eyes of the Dragon Knight, they were just a small shrimp.
Just as Lin Mo and the two CIA agents prepared to bid farewell and leave, a sudden, fierce screeching of brakes and the roar of engines came from outside the villa.
Everyone’s expression changed. This was a villa area; how could such a formidable convoy be heading towards this villa?
The burly CIA agent Ivan Carter dashed to the window like a gust of wind, carefully tilting his face to look outside, then turned back to say, "There are a lot of people, and they are armed!"
His partner, Charlie Mitchell, tightened his face, quickly turned his head, and whispered into his earpiece, as though making inquiries and requesting support.
At that moment, a loud and violent shout suddenly erupted outside.
“Bob! Bob! You bastard! How dare you hold back! I’m telling you, you are dead, and your whole family is dead! Hurry up and hand over the stuff, or I will bury your family along with this house! I warn you, don’t try anything funny, or I’ll crush each of your little cubs right in front of you.”
Bob’s face suddenly turned pale, and he trembled as he said, "It’s him; one of the guys among those robbers has a voice that is exactly the same as his."
They intended to kill his children right in front of him? That was a level of cruelty that showed they had completely lost their humanity.
It seemed they were truly acting without any regard for the law.
Now even the faces of the two CIA agents turned grim. This was simply too arrogant; did they really think they could cover the sky with one hand just because they had money?
Boom! The villa’s front door was violently struck with a loud crash.
Ivan Carter rushed to the door and counted down as if readying for an action, suddenly yanking the door open. A burly man unexpectedly stumbled in, seeming completely unaware that he had kicked at empty air and lost his balance, falling into the villa.
With a cold smile, Ivan Carter waited for the others outside to react before firmly slamming the door shut again and pointing his gun at the man trying to struggle to his feet. “Don’t move!”
He didn’t reveal his CIA identity but quickly delivered a heavy kick, sending the brute sprawling back to the ground. He then pulled out several self-locking nylon ties from his pocket, quickly twisting the man’s arms behind his back and skillfully began binding him—wrists, thumbs, and then ankles.
Despite being thin and cheap, these ties were surprisingly effective, rendering the hulking man immobile as he let out a string of filthy curses.
“Let me go, you despicable bastards! How dare you trick me? I won’t let you off!”
As he struggled, the ties bit into his flesh, drawing red blood.
“Hey, behave yourself, kid!”
Ivan Carter, as expected, was indeed a "good man," just as his partner Charlie had said. He delivered two sharp slaps across the man’s face, knocking out a few blood-stained teeth, followed by a burst of violent actions that matched his large bald head, big dog chain, sharp teeth, and bulky figure—perhaps because he had shiny steel teeth, he enjoyed smashing others’ teeth in.
Bob and Lisa gasped in horror, fearing this wouldn’t end well.
They were unaware that this was the fate of ordinary people confronting state violent organizations. Attacking CIA agents? This was considered light.
Outside, a chorus of curses erupted as they learned that their comrades had been ambushed, and they dared not easily open fire. Instead, they desperately pounded on the door and rushed to every corner of the villa, attempting to find an entry to barge in.
However, after experiencing an incident, Bob and Lisa had boarded up many windows of the villa with wooden planks out of fear. They did not expect that this action, which was merely for self-psychological comfort, would actually serve a purpose.
As the windows were smashed, those outside were astonished to find thick wooden boards inside; they could not break through, and perhaps unable to find any vulnerable entry points, curses filled the air around the villa.
Charlie Mitchell suddenly seemed to remember something. He quickly took out his phone and opened a certain application, beginning to walk in circles around the room as if he were checking the feng shui.
To everyone’s surprise, he pulled out several small black round pieces, about the size of beer bottle caps, from some inconspicuous corners and tossed them onto the table in the living room. Charlie Mitchell said to Bob’s wife, Lisa, “Madam, could you please bring me a glass of salty water? If you have vinegar, please add a little bit.”
Considering the unexpected guests outside, even the slowest thinker could guess what these little gadgets were. Fortunately, they were professional agents who easily figured it out.
No wonder Bob had just handed over that key-shaped USB drive, and those people had quickly returned with such intensity.
It seemed the other side was not foolish at all, but rather very cunning, knowing to leave a backup plan. Although they had not discovered the missing core data during their initial victory, any small movements from Bob would not escape their attention.
The gold giant dragon could also find those items, but this fellow was always lazy and wouldn’t take action unless Lin Mo spoke up.
The white man who fell in looked fierce enough to scare Bob’s youngest son, Joy, into tears. Bob quickly handed his little one to his wife, who was bringing the salty water, and took him upstairs to comfort him.
No matter how hard the man struggled, Charlie’s partner, Ivan Carter, remained unmoved, firmly holding him down with his muscular build.
“Charlie! Do you have someone who is skilled at disguising identities and evading tracking?” Lin Mo asked while watching the other agent, Ivan Carter, torment the captive.
Charlie Mitchell tossed the listening devices he had pulled from the corner into the salted water with vinegar. The salt and acid would corrode the circuits of those listening devices, and the hot water would accelerate this reaction, requiring no additional destructive measures at all; the miniature listening devices would be instantly rendered useless. Even if some managed to survive, the water would likely prevent them from picking up any clear sounds.
As for those inside whose names had already leaked out, who would dare investigate their identities? That was almost like asking a tortoise to eat rat poison. Neither the CIA nor the Chinese military had any good intentions.
“What’s wrong?” Charlie Mitchell clapped his hands in astonishment as he looked at Lin Mo. Skilled at disguise? Evading tracking? Didn’t that refer to agents like them?
Lin Mo shifted his gaze towards the anxious family and said, “I need to find someone to protect Bob and his family to leave Oak Ridge. They can’t stay here; it’s too dangerous for them. Don’t worry, I’ll cover the costs; money is not a problem!”
Charlie Mitchell paused for a moment, surprised that Morin truly had a compassionate heart, which immediately made him feel favorable toward him and earned his respect. He nodded and said, “I have some friends who are retired colleagues; I think I can gather them.” He then looked toward his partner, Ivan Carter.
“Black Dragon” Ivan Carter shrugged and said, “I have no objections! If you want some strong muscle, I can recommend a few people.”
“Great, then I’ll leave this to you. You know this area better than I do. And as I said, money is not an issue. Once the task is completed, I will issue you a check. Here’s the deposit.”
Lin Mo casually wrote a check for $200,000. Compared to the high-tech deal worth over ten million dollars, this amount was merely pocket change.
Seeing the check, the two agents exchanged surprised glances, realizing they would share in that money.
Bob’s family was too moved to say anything in response to Lin Mo’s kindness.
The real headache was for the Central Intelligence Agency, which discovered that the person they were monitoring could not be bought off with money—within a short time, their employee had already devoted himself completely to working for the other side. Who truly had more money?
“What about the people outside? My friends won’t arrive until tomorrow noon.”
After making the phone call, Charlie glanced at the partner he had captured, whose cheek was already swollen and filled with a number of broken teeth, making his speech indistinct.
Currently, the most urgent matter was the most important. They were agents, not special forces. A one-on-one fight was fine; a swarm of ants could take down an elephant. If they rushed out recklessly, they would surely be overturned.
