Dragon Rider Warplane
Chapter 825
Chapter 825: Chaos Escalates
Those foolish and bold fates are truly pitiful.
Four fierce beasts collided with Lin Mo but were quickly cut down to two. However, the surviving ones burst outside, turning into pitiful beings as they unleashed a massacre; humans appeared almost completely helpless before them.
"No, no, how could this happen? Number five, ‘Evil Spirit,’ is the most stable product! Their mission target is right in front of us; isn’t it a life-or-death situation? Why? Why?!"
Beside the already shell-shocked Zeger, a senior engineer from the secret bio-laboratory tugged at his hair in disbelief, letting out a tortured wail.
The screams of a nearby woman jolted Zeger back to reality. In a rage, he jumped up, grabbing Jack Martin by the neck and shouting fiercely, "Idiot! Immediately control those two beasts! I know you have a way; hurry, we’re doomed!"
He realized he was in big trouble, serious trouble!
Heaven knows how such a sturdy "crystal cage" could fail after just a few hits and shatter like this.
The deaths of the influential people here would surely cause a massive uproar. Had it not been for most people unable to endure the bloodshed and leaving early, he might have even considered suicide.
The two beasts glared with teacup-sized eyes, their fierce aggression clearly focused on their high-end box, which had no protection whatsoever.
"Y-yes! I’ll control them right away!"
Jack Martin suddenly recalled, scrambling through his pockets for the counter-remote and special perfume.
As long as he sprayed the perfume on himself and Zeger, the rampaging beasts would not harm them and would instead run away in disgust.
Both monsters had micro remote-controlled bombs implanted in their brains; the power of the remote system’s signals was incredibly strong, and the bombs’ signal receptors were highly sensitive, able to penetrate dozens of meters of reinforced concrete.
The counter-remote in his hand could not only detonate the bombs in the monsters’ brains but also emit special wave ultrasonic signals to command them to obey.
The U.S. Military’s bio-research lab nearly spared no effort designing this battlefield killer, investing nearly a century and countless lives in conducting brutal combat experiments with death row inmates and various fierce beasts.
The concept of these battle beasts originated from the various brutal monsters depicted in society, movies, and television, significantly reducing human soldier casualties, making recruitment easier, and easing the government’s pressure from military families.
Just as he nervously fumbled to pull out the perfume to give to Zeger, a strong, foul odor suddenly hit him.
"Ah…"
In Jack Martin’s final moments, all he could see was the horrifying shadow of a sharp claw coming at him.
Blood, shredded flesh, broken bones, and unrecognizable intestines almost instantly splattered across half of the walls of the box.
He was not a real soldier; he had only used such things in tightly guarded laboratories. His mental resilience and adaptability were no different from an ordinary person’s. He had seen terrifying scenes only through reliable protection but never imagined he would find himself in one. He thought he could calmly turn danger into safety, but it all backfired, as he severely underestimated these dreadful bio-war beasts.
Two young women nearby screamed in complete despair, as blood, stench, and beast roars filled the entire box.
This place had turned into the scariest hell imaginable.
"Damn! Damn!"
Zeger felt a wave of filth spread from his lower body; he had lost control over himself in fear, the terror leaving him utterly paralyzed, unable to muster even the strength to run.
As he closed his eyes in despair, waiting for the brutal claws of the beast to descend upon him, he suddenly heard low growls and faint breaths, followed by the heavy footsteps immediately retreating. The hoarse screams of the women echoed in his ears, and they somehow survived unscathed.
Heaven protects! I’m still alive!
Zeger suddenly opened his eyes and, amidst the bloodshed all around, saw that he and the two women nearby had managed to survive.
At his feet, a broken glass bottle with a capacity of about 50 milliliters was slowly oozing an unknown liquid, emitting a peculiar smell into the air.
Not far away, he spotted a palm-sized white controller — the last remaining relics Jack had left behind in the world. Zeger’s face darkened; this indicated that the bio-war beasts were completely out of control.
Some lucky ones desperately shouted for their bodyguards, rolling and scrambling as they fled through the passageway leading out from the gladiatorial arena.
Two fierce beasts did not let them escape and rushed into the passage, unleashing a wave of desperate screams and weak handgun shots inside.
Not far from the entrance of the passage, a hidden door opened automatically, revealing two intelligent combat mechanical soldiers. As soon as they appeared, they immediately locked onto the two fierce beasts, and bullets from machine guns rained down like a storm.
The two fierce beasts howled in pain as bullets ricocheted off their scales. However, very few managed to penetrate; their steel-like, high-density muscles blocked the few bullets that got through. Some minor injuries only fueled the beasts’ fury, and they charged fearlessly, their sharp claws striking down, turning the two intelligent combat mechanical soldiers into heaps of scrap metal.
Roar!
The passage echoed with terrifying roars.
Scarlet Manor was in utter chaos, filled with various terrified and panicked screams, shouts, and cries that rose and fell like waves.
People rushed toward all kinds of vehicles, starting car engines one after another. The bright white headlights illuminated the night as the vehicles roared to life.
The wealthy and famous, disregarding their elegant demeanor, only thought about fleeing this dangerous place as quickly as possible.
Just as Zeger prepared to get up and leave, a shadow slowly appeared at his feet. He turned to look, feeling his teeth start to uncontrollably chatter.
In the figure’s hand was a blood-soaked great sword, emitting a glaring and menacing glow — a monster even more fearsome than the beasts.
Even the senior engineer from the secret bio-laboratory had confidently guaranteed that these bio-war beasts were the most stable and controllable products, insisting that humans were no match for them. But what was the reality?
In this deathmatch within the "crystal cage," the utterly helpless beasts had been slaughtered in half, retreating in fear and fleeing without a fight, redirecting their wrath and violence onto others.
"Mr. Zeger, I believe it’s time to fulfill our wager."
The voice of the Dragon Knight sounded as if it came from the depths of hell, startling Zeger, who shivered and clenched his teeth to suppress any sounds of begging.
"Please, no, I beg you, don’t kill me! I will definitely fulfill my wager!"
Yet deep down, some fears were beyond his control, and Zeger was shocked to discover his mouth and vocal cords had betrayed him.
These were instincts stemming from humanity’s survival.
"Hand over the keys, and don’t forget the unlocker for those ‘safety rings.’"
Lin Mo’s hand quivered as the great sword edged closer to Zeger’s neck. The lightly curved blade radiated an extraordinarily sharp aura. Zeger didn’t even notice that although the blade was still a centimeter away from his skin, a faint line of blood had inexplicably appeared on his neck.
He had just learned from the gold giant dragon that the retrieval of the Gold Coins had successfully completed its task. He had seen Bob and the others successfully meet up with the rescue team in the underground passage and promptly activate the electronic pulse shielding system, temporarily disabling the remote detonation function of the "safety rings," so at least they were safe for now.
"Yes! Yes!"
Zeger finally understood fear; he had provoked an enemy he could not afford to face. Even if he refused, the other party could still find what they wanted on him.
However, an unexpected incident that Lin Mo didn’t know about occurred; the gold giant dragon concealed some truths while taking advantage of the chaos.
This fallen glutton faced an ineffective monitoring system and an empty underground passage, ultimately unable to resist temptation.
As if some supernatural event had occurred, the heavy blast-proof steel doors that should have sealed the passage inexplicably disappeared, including the full metal door frames, leaving nothing but emptiness in their original positions — not even a bolt remained, as if they had never existed.
In the underground vault area, there were signs of significant metal reactions.
Sometimes, keeping a dragon is not much different from keeping a dog.
…
Colonel Eagle King David de Hitt, who was visiting his friend at Arnold Air Force Base, suddenly awoke to the piercing alarm that shattered the deep silence of the night. He sat up abruptly, listening uncertainly to the harsh alarm outside; although the exclusive tone was not very loud, it was extremely urgent.
Level 4B situation — was there some uncontrollable small-scale riot or a bio-hazard disaster unfolding?
“David! David! Get up, we need to go now!”
There was a frantic knocking sound at the wooden door of the officers’ dormitory. Colonel David de Hitt recognized the voice of his friend, Colonel Todd Evans, whose flight code was "Nightmare."
“What’s happening? Why is there a mission for me?”
Eagle King David de Hitt jumped out of bed and hurriedly opened the door.
This was clearly not the first fighter squadron at Langley Air Force Base, so why was there a mission for him?
“There’s an emergency! Orders have come down from above; get dressed and hurry with me!”
Colonel Todd Evans from the neighboring dormitory also looked like he had just been woken up, quickly pulling on his clothes.
“Yes!”
As a soldier, obeying orders is paramount. Eagle King David de Hitt quickly grabbed a few pieces of clothing and followed him out.
Twenty minutes later, two F-35 "Lightning II" jets roared down the runway, piercing through the vast darkness of the night.
