Dragon Rider Warplane
Chapter 832
Chapter 832: The Reluctant "Eagle King"
At a distance of 5,000 meters, an elevation angle of 15 degrees, a speed of 600 kilometers, wind force level 4, wind speed 30 kilometers, clear weather, and slight air pollution—target locked!
When Lin Mo noticed the fighter jet’s jet engine suddenly speeding toward him, he instinctively looked up, habitually calculating a series of ominous data points.
Has the U.S. Air Force gone crazy? Do they want to attack him?
Don’t they fear retaliation from the Chinese Government?
In an instant, the Dragon Knight’s mind raced through more than ten thoughts.
He kicked the box containing the Hydrogen-Oxygen Decomposition Tank samples and technical data aside to prevent damage during the battle. Lin Mo quickly moved dozens of meters away, keeping a sharp eye on the fighter jet in the sky. His muscles tensed slightly, and he gripped the Longinus spear tightly, ready to throw at any moment.
With the sharpness and weight of the spear, boosted by his Battle Energy, the Dragon Knight was confident he could pierce through the fighter jet within a 200-meter range, causing deadly damage whether he hit the nose or the air intake.
“‘Nightmare,’ I’m going down for a moment.”
Hearing his old friend say he would descend, “Nightmare” was startled and quickly replied, “Eagle King, what are you doing?”
The fighter jet’s combat effectiveness relied entirely on high-speed flight. If it landed, it would probably be less useful than a Dirt Dog.
Moreover, two fierce beasts remained below, not yet eliminated. Although he confirmed they hadn’t moved from the underground space of the manor, it was uncertain when they would suddenly emerge on the surface, making the ground still extremely dangerous.
Plans often change; the new orders given to the "Lightning" team made them cautious about dropping bombs. They couldn’t fathom why their superiors were suddenly so concerned after being indifferent and uninformed just moments ago—this sudden shift left the two F-35 pilots puzzled.
“I have an ‘old friend’ down there; I’ll be back soon! Keep an eye on things for me.”
“Alright, be careful.”
“Eagle King, this landing is unauthorized, illegal, and not allowed…”
“Hello? Hello? This is Eagle King calling Arnold. Hmm, it seems there’s a malfunction in the communication system.”
“…”
“Nightmare” could only watch as his friend, the Eagle King, operated like an old hand, bending the rules. He widened his eyes and remained extremely cautious, ready to provide support for his old friend’s descent.
The F-35 fighter jet was getting closer to Lin Mo on the ground.
Unexpectedly, the F-35 "Lightning II" in the sky did not launch an attack as Lin Mo had imagined. Instead, it suddenly deployed its drag flaps, significantly slowing its speed.
Is it going to… land?!
Lin Mo looked on in surprise as the F-35 "Lightning II" executed this strange maneuver. While uncertain, he could at least be sure that the opponent wouldn’t attack in this condition.
The next movement of the F-35 confirmed his guess.
As the drag flaps increased the aircraft’s drag, the exhaust nozzle tilted downward; the lift fans in the middle of the body stabilized the jet’s position, reducing its speed even further until it gently landed in front of Lin Mo.
In a STOVL Marine Corps configuration.
Lin Mo immediately recognized the version of the F-35 fighter jet, known as the "Lightning II" and billed as "the most expensive fighter jet in history." Even the wealthy U.S. Air Force didn’t have many of these in service, but here one was right in front of him.
The Dragon Knight’s heart began to race; this was like an Old Hen paying respects to a weasel.
Perhaps seizing it on the spot would be a good idea.
However, this thought remained solely in Lin Mo’s mind and did not translate into action.
While he could likely grab it, the question remained: how could he get it back?
Not only is fuel a big problem, but dealing with NMD and TMD interceptions is also quite troubling. If he flies back and encounters the domestic air defense network that doesn’t recognize him, facing a CNMD could be a real tragedy.
Who would believe that a U.S. advanced main battle fighter would come flying in the name of its own people? Even Lin Mo himself might not believe such an exaggerated event.
Then, the cockpit of the F-35 fighter jet opened, and the pilot climbed out. After jumping down from the cockpit and facing Lin Mo, he took off his helmet, revealing his true identity.
Not a beauty, but an old man!
The truth is revealed!
Lin Mo recognized the visitor!
No wonder the ominous presence lingered; it was the "Eagle King," Colonel of the U.S. Air Force’s first squadron.
This guy knows how to track! Does he possess some special tracking skills like the Light Mirror Technique to have chased him all the way here? Even the Dragon Knight would feel jealous.
“Hey, ‘Eagle King,’ it’s been a long time!”
Lin Mo grinned, suppressing the urge to stab the guy. Out of professionalism, he proactively greeted him.
Killing one person is little matter, but if he were to kill an ace pilot of America on American soil, it would likely cost the country a fortune to retrieve him.
Back home, they were waiting for him to pass on his air combat skills; there was no way they would let him stay in America permanently.
“‘Dragon Knight,’ what are you doing here?”
Eagle King David de Hitt spoke with a harsh tone. The young Asian man with black hair and eyes in front of him was not his friend; he was his rival—a foe, to say the least.
“Me? Can’t I be here? This place doesn’t belong to you!”
Lin Mo seemed not to notice Eagle King David de Hitt’s sour face.
“Hmph! You reckless fool, don’t you know this place is dangerous? There are man-eating monsters here!”
Eagle King David de Hitt saw the Longinus spear in Lin Mo’s hand and thought it was some knight’s spear he picked up for self-defense. This kid is really lucky not to have been eaten by those monsters.
Standing on the ground, even an invincible special tier pilot should stay under the army’s strict protection to keep himself safe; a pilot’s strength only applies when he’s in control of a fighter jet.
But Eagle King didn’t consider that it was already fortunate the monsters hadn’t eaten Lin Mo. The massacre occurring inside and outside the manor probably had something to do with him. The two fierce beasts escaped their "crystal cage" and were raving madly, attacking every human they saw.
“Monsters? Where? Where?”
Lin Mo raised the Longinus, looking around, eager for a monster barbecue. After being busy all night, the Dragon Knight was hungry.
“You…”
Seeing the former Chinese pilot who had once defeated him acting so recklessly filled “Eagle King” with rage.
He had lost to this foolish guy; it was utterly embarrassing, and “Eagle King” felt a strong sense of injustice and grievance.
“Fine, I’ll endure it!” “Eagle King” suppressed his anger and immediately questioned, “‘Dragon Knight,’ why won’t you accept the challenge? You just dropped out of ‘Abyss Nirvana’! Are you afraid?”
After being shot down by this guy during the last "Death Team Battle" in Syria and barely coming out alive, “Eagle King” was unwilling and issued another challenge. He didn’t expect that as soon as he returned home and found an expert to contact, he learned that this "Dragon Knight" had no intention of continuing his push to the special tier group. Instead, after winning the last battle of the intermediate tier group, he had nonchalantly exited the "Abyss Nirvana" competition.
Feeling mocked, how could “Eagle King” feel good seeing Lin Mo again? Not throwing a bomb at him right there was already quite polite.
“What? Unsatisfied? You want to challenge me? Right here, right now? Okay!”
Lin Mo suddenly remembered that this “Eagle King” was his subordinate’s defeat, insisting on wanting to face him again was indeed amusing.
The Dragon Knight’s gaze turned to the F-35 fighter jet; he wouldn’t mind using it as a weapon for their duel.
Lin Mo didn’t mind, but someone else did!
“You…”
Following Lin Mo’s gaze, “Eagle King” quickly understood, feeling like a rooster caught by the neck. Was it destined for him to clash with this kid? How foolish of him to issue a challenge in this setting; wasn’t that just leading himself into trouble?
The Pentagon wouldn’t allow a foreign top pilot to access the country’s most advanced fighter jets.
Even the simplest aircraft wouldn’t be permitted; America would never allow pilots from other nations to fly its warplanes freely. Otherwise, that would mean a challenge to the United States of America.
“Ha ha, what’s the matter? Afraid?”
The tables had turned; Lin Mo didn’t lead him into trouble but kicked him straight into the pit.
“Bastard! Just wait!”
“Eagle King” trembled with anger but didn’t dare provoke further. If Lin Mo casually jabbed the Longinus at the F-35 or himself, he might not even have time to cry. This Chinese guy was a violent menace.
Lin Mo smiled as he watched Eagle King David de Hitt leave in a huff; this guy was a big trouble, and his departure was a good thing.
“There are two man-eating monsters here; be careful! May God bless you.”
For unknown reasons, “Eagle King” didn’t want this annoying guy to feed the monsters for nothing. He put his aviation tactical helmet back on, stepped onto the DSI air intake, and flipped into the cockpit.
Lin Mo was momentarily surprised and immediately shouted, “Monsters? Are you talking about the two in the gladiatorial arena under the ground?”
“Eagle King” quickly turned his head, staring intently at Lin Mo; this guy seemed to know something.
“Long dead! I did it!” The Dragon Knight beamed brightly.
“Hearing this, the ‘Eagle King’ suddenly shook violently, almost falling out of the cockpit, struggling to steady himself and silently turning to give Lin Mo a double middle finger.
What the hell! Are you kidding me?
