Flirting with the World

Chapter 6

With the last strike, Hua Manlou used his fan to knock on the spider's joints. In the end, he retreated unscathed. His white robe was still standing there without a single sound.

Lin's face was pale. The bullet was still in the gun chamber. The spider held on for three seconds before it fell to the ground. Its eight claws were completely broken, and its green eyes rolled up.

Hua Manlou opened his fan and waved it with a smile. "This Hua wants you to take the gun to protect yourself, not to distract you to help me."

Lin was speechless.

Hua Manlou seemed to have heard the strange phenomenon in the room. His brows furrowed. He closed his fan and said, "We have to close the window quickly!"

If all the ghosts outside the window rushed in from the bedroom, the consequences would be unimaginable.

Lin sprinted along the corridor with her gun. Hua Manlou protected her as they fought with a few monsters that charged at them. Lin dodged while trying to think of a way to counterattack. She raised the painting on the wall and threw it at a skeleton. Bones scattered all over the floor. Lin almost slipped on the bones. She looked up and saw that there was a switch in the room where the painting was originally hung. She pulled down the switch and rushed towards the bedroom.

Pulling down the power switch was beneficial to Hua Manlou's attack. He took down a few ghosts by himself, and with the element of surprise, he quickly cleared a path for Lin Ming.

There was a frog squatting at the door of the bedroom. It was half the size of a human and held a trident in its hand. It jumped out and stabbed at the two of them.

Hua Manlou fought with it. Lin rushed into the room. As expected, the window was open. A cool breeze poured in. Lin saw a cloaked man standing in the night sky outside the window. He crossed his arms and looked at Lin with a meaningful gaze.

Lin glanced at him. Without hesitation, she rushed to the window and closed it. She locked it and isolated the thing outside the window.

The cloaked man was speechless.

To his surprise, even though the room was dark, it was very quiet. It was not like he expected — the place was completely overrun by ghosts.

After all, there was a frog outside the door and the cloaked man outside the window. No one could break in … right?

Outside, Hua Manlou and the frog were still fighting. Lin Fan's mind was filled with the monster he had seen earlier. He held his arm that was covered in goosebumps and walked lightly towards the door. Then, he was pushed hard from the front by a hand. He fell on his back and landed on the bed in the bedroom.

"F * ck!"

With her head down and her feet up, she bit her lip and finally saw the things in the room with the help of the neon lights.

It was an ugly dwarf with a witch's nose, a pair of big and small eyes, and hair wrapped around its neck.

How could the dwarf push her chest?

Lin stared at the dwarf. His head was on the bed, and he had difficulty breathing. His vision was sometimes blurry and sometimes clear.

She moved her head with difficulty and saw a slender ghostly figure standing behind the dwarf.

The ghostly figure was imitating the dwarf's movements as it walked towards her.

No!

That ghostly figure was the dwarf's shadow!

The dwarf's turbid eyes stared at her. He was getting closer and closer, as if he wanted to swallow her alive with the turbid liquid in his eyes.

Lin Fan couldn't bear to look anymore. She raised her hand and pulled the trigger …

"Bang —"

The whole building was shocked.

The world seemed to return to peace.

Lin Fan was covered in blood and staggered out. Hua Manlou came in and hugged her gently. His voice seemed to be trembling. "Are you okay?"

Lin Fan suppressed her tears for a long time and wiped them on Hua Manlou's clean clothes.

Hua Manlou comforted her. "You're okay. You'll be fine."

Lin Fan didn't say a word. She followed Hua Manlou to the bedroom and sat down on the sofa.

At this time, footsteps sounded in the corridor. Lin Fan stood up. Hua Manlou said, "It's one of us. Don't worry."

The person who came turned on the switch and lit the lights in the living room. She sat down on the sofa opposite Lin Fan and crossed her legs.

Lin Fan was shocked by her sudden appearance, but after seeing who it was, Lin Fan felt less nervous.

It was a very young woman. She held her chin with one hand and looked at Lin Fan. Although her appearance was ordinary, she exuded a mature temperament that didn't match her age. It made people feel relaxed and calm.
