Get Out of the Way, I'm Going to Cheat
Chapter 11
CP: Wolverhampton Wanderers, EC
My mind was in a mess. I didn't know how much time had passed before I regained consciousness. I used a lot of effort to open my eyes and I saw Hank's blue eyes smiling at me through his glasses.
Seeing that I was awake, he pressed a few buttons on the side of my bed. The bed gradually moved so that I was leaning against it.
"Morning!
Did you sleep well? "Hank asked gently.
"How long did I sleep for?" Wow, my voice is really hoarse.
Hank poured a glass of warm water and handed it to me. Then he answered, "Not too long ago, just a day ago."
"Thank you."
I didn't expect that the first time I fainted in my life would be saved by this bastard. What if he used this to threaten me in the future?
Looking around, I realized that the entire room was filled with high-tech equipment. It looked like a laboratory. I asked, "Where is this?"
"X-Men Base. This is my workshop."
"Huh?"
It sounded like he was going to cut me with a knife. Shouldn't I have woken up in a hospital or a clinic?
Did I wake up in the wrong way?
It seems like I need to lie down and sleep again!
"Don't misunderstand. I need to monitor your brainwaves when you're asleep, so I put you here," Hank knew that the atmosphere was a little awkward, so he said, "I'll bring you to eat something and get some sun!"
I still felt a little light-headed when I got off the bed, so Hank got a wheelchair to push me. We didn't see anyone else along the way.
After eating a little, he pushed me to the backyard of the base for a stroll.
The X-Men Base was still centered around Professor X's ancestral mansion. There were grasslands, lakes, and endless forests in all directions. There was no other main mansion in sight. It seemed like the area within a few miles was his property.
Hank pushed me past a building that looked like a mini labyrinth castle. There were many children's entertainment facilities next to it, such as a merry-go-round, a Ferris wheel, a pirate ship, a slide, and a swing.
It seems like they put in a lot of effort for the mutated children who came here to study. Even I had an inexplicable urge to go in and touch those toys and facilities.
"Has no one been here for a long time?" Although it was spectacular, it was not difficult to find the traces of desertion and the rust and dust on the surface.
In addition, the entire X-Men Base was lifeless and there was no sound at all. Could it be that there had been no children here for many years?
Hank saw that I was staring at the building in a daze. He stopped his wheelchair and sat down on a bench nearby. He looked at me and explained, "There is no electricity here. It needs to be activated with your mind. The person who built it has been … gone for many years."
"Not even Professor X can activate it?"
Hank smiled bitterly. "He can, but he doesn't want to."
Looking at his expression, I guessed that this place might have been built by Phoenix.
Suddenly, Hank and I sensed that the merry-go-round in the distance moved slightly. There was only a gentle breeze around, which was not strong enough to move such a huge facility.
Just as we were wondering what kind of supernatural force caused the movement, Wolverine Logen and Laser Eye Scott Summers walked out from inside.
They were actually having a field play here?
Looking at Laser Eyes's slightly swollen lips and uneven collar, I overturned the conclusion I had just made in my heart: this place was definitely not built by Phoenix Girl!
They looked a little flustered. When they saw that it was Hank and I who were watching, they let out a sigh of relief.
The three of them sat in a row on a narrow bench and stared at me in a wheelchair. It was a strange feeling. Fortunately, I was not bald.
Wolverine glanced at me and said to Hank half-jokingly, "Did you find Charles' son?
They look so alike! "
Laser Eye also nodded, "At first glance, they did look like the professor when he still had hair. But after looking at them for a while, they didn't look alike."
Hank saw that I was a little embarrassed, so he pushed up his glasses and asked the two of them, "Don't you have to invigilate the exam today?"
"With Charles and Eric here, there's no need for us."
"…" I was ashamed. So the children were all having exams. No wonder I didn't see anyone since this morning. I thought the school had closed down.
Suddenly, there was a burst of cheers from the main house. It seemed that the exam was over.
Sure enough, in the next moment, a few mutant children who could teleport suddenly appeared in the courtyard. They were running and playing with each other. Not long after, we could see the other children swarming out of the gate to celebrate the end of the semester.
"Let's go back. The professor should be here soon," Hank said goodbye to Logen and Scott and pushed me to Professor X's office.
I was on tenterhooks. I wasn't sure if I was nervous because I was about to meet the leader of the X-men.
The office door automatically retracted into the walls on both sides. Professor X was sitting in front of his desk with his head slightly raised. He was talking to Magneto who was leaning on his desk. Both of their expressions were gentle and peaceful. A perfect picture of you and me appeared in front of my eyes.
Oh my god!
It really is Professor X and Magneto, he didn't even wear a helmet today!
I bit my lower lip. My heart was surging but I didn't show it on my face.
Fortunately, I didn't have a tail. Otherwise, I would have wagged it uncontrollably.
"Child, how do you feel?
Do you feel any discomfort anywhere? "Professor X and Charles Xavier were the first to speak.
I shook my head and showed him a bright smile with gratitude, "Other than my head being a little dizzy, everything else is fine. Thank you for saving me."
Magneto, whose English name was Eric Lancel, walked forward and patted my shoulder. He smiled and showed two rows of teeth. I heard that when he was young, he smiled like a shark.
"What did you do? Why did you collapse and faint?"
"I don't know why I fainted either," I glanced at Hank and hoped that he would give me some scientific explanation.
Hank's answer came as expected, but it was still not satisfactory, "You used too much energy. Your body was too weak, so you fainted."
It seemed that his Yang energy had really been sucked away by that pig trotter Magus.
I picked out some less embarrassing parts and shared the cause and effect with them.
"You're saying that he entered your dream?"
Professor X repeated and then turned to Magneto. The two of them looked at each other thoughtfully for nearly five seconds.
Is this the legendary brain-sex?
While I was thinking, I saw Professor X cast a sharp look at me. I was so scared that I quickly got rid of the idea.
"Tonight, I can enter your dream and communicate with him," Professor X proposed a solution.
I really wanted to say yes, but I was afraid that he would see some R21-rated scenes that were not suitable for the elderly or children.
"But that might trigger the forbidden zone you set up."
Magneto looked at Professor X and seemed to be thinking about a very difficult problem, "There's a chance to awaken his ability."
"We have to give it a try. Otherwise, I'm afraid that the child will be drained dry before we can find the shaman."
*
I was in a deep sleep in a special hibernation chamber. I didn't know how many data wires were connected to my head and body.
According to them, the reason I was put in there was because they were afraid that my body would continue to deteriorate. But in my opinion, this so-called hibernation chamber was the same as the cage Double couplet used to control the Hulk. Could the shaman summon a scourge in my dream?
I saw that I was lying on the bed in my dream, but I was unconscious. Mr. Shaman sat on the edge of the bed and used his fingertips to gently stroke my cheek. He said softly, "Wake up, Little Star. It won't be fun if you fall asleep."
In my dream, Professor X moved his legs that he hadn't used for a long time. He took two steps towards my bed and said to Mr. Shaman, "Don't touch him anymore. His body can't hold on much longer."
However, Mister Sorcerer ignored his existence and only wanted to wake me up on the bed.
Suddenly, I heard another voice from behind Professor X. It felt familiar, but I couldn't remember who it was.
"Don't waste your energy. He can't hear you."
I saw another 'me' appear behind Professor X. No wonder the voice was so familiar. It was my own.
"You've entered the wrong dream. This is the forbidden zone you drew for me."
Professor X looked at the other 'me' that suddenly appeared. He frowned and asked, "How did you break the ice?"
The other 'me' curled up into a ball and squatted on the ground with his arms around his chest. But he still couldn't stop his whole body from trembling. He looked up and answered, "I don't know. Maybe there's a heat source that's even more powerful than Pyro."
The other 'me' trembled and stood up. He stretched out his arms and walked towards Professor X. He asked earnestly, "It's so cold, daddy. Can you hug me?"
*
I was awakened by a bone-chilling cold. Before I could recall the scene in my dream, I saw Professor X and Magneto.
They were guarding my bed. I had thousands of questions in my head, but I couldn't think straight.
Professor X smiled and held my hand. He greeted me formally with another identity.
"Welcome home, child."
As expected of a professor. I understood the meaning of every word he said, but when they were put together, I didn't understand.
"Son, long time no see!"
Sell Mud also joined in at this time. Didn't I just see you before I went to sleep?
Fine, I admit, this sleep probably made my IQ drop. I couldn't understand what these two were saying.
I put on a fake professional smile and asked them, "Sorry, what do you mean?
What do you mean by 'forbidden zone' and 'frozen'?
Why are there two 'me's in my dream? "
