I Only Have One Piece of Land

Chapter 8

After Abigail wiped the dog's feet, she looked up and smiled at Loki. She waved the food in her hand, indicating that she was going to start cooking immediately.

Loki looked coldly at the man who was pretending to be a dog. He was walking around Abigail's legs. She even lowered her head and talked to him from time to time. They looked very intimate.

He stood behind the window and tried to point his finger at the dog.

He still had no magic power.

He put his finger into his sleeve. Forget it, if the man showed his true form now, he would probably scare Abby — no, this idiot. Anyway, there would be a chance to teach him a lesson in the future.

He walked back to his small bed and picked up the half-read Shakespeare. His slender fingers moved across the pages, but he suddenly paused.

No, this guy's relationship with others had nothing to do with him. Didn't he just want to gain the other party's trust, leave this place, and destroy this place?

Sure enough, idiocy was contagious.

Loki clenched the book and gritted his teeth. That was why he hated being with idiots. His IQ was polluted!

He looked up and looked at Abigail who was happily cooking through the window. Her blonde ponytail swayed behind her head.

The golden-haired people were stupid as hell!

"Time to eat!" Abigail put a plate of boiled beef with little salt into the dog's bowl. She then placed the plate on the windowsill as if she was presenting a treasure. She waved at Loki.

Loki stretched his long legs and stood up from the bed. He picked up the small spoon on the side of the plate and took a bite.

Abigail looked at him eagerly. Her eyes were round and moist, like a puppy's.

"Yes." Loki made a one-syllable sound and nodded his head at an angle that was hard to be seen by normal people.

Yay!

Abigail skipped back to the dining table and ate her portion with satisfaction.

When she lived alone, she never cared about the quality of the food. She often slept until noon and made something to fill her stomach. A plate of muffins could last her for three days.

But Loki's tongue was too picky!

He refused to eat fast food such as biscuits, bread, and other fast food products. He had to have fixed meals three times a day, and he had to have a balanced diet of meat and vegetables … Abigail was completely tortured at first. Every time she looked at the pot of unknown substances that she cooked, she doubted her life. She just wanted to open a hole and kick Loki out of the house.

But now, under the torture, her culinary skills had risen to level 5!

Abigail was impressed by her handiwork.

"If I can understand what others are saying, I can become a chef. The restaurant in the city center is hiring people to cut vegetables. It pays 40 yuan an hour!"

"You need to reach Level 6 to become a Slicer. You were forced to reach Level 5. You might as well write a book." The system poured cold water on him.

"Then I can work and write at the same time and earn double the money!"

Abigail's dream was beautiful. "I'm so miserable now because I can't socialize. It's your bug that buried my talent!"

The system couldn't refute this. It could only whisper, "Didn't you catch a Loki? Look at how good he is. He can talk to you, make up stories with you, and train your culinary skills …" The more it said, the more it felt that this kind of good man was unparalleled. Only Abby was worthy of him. "Abby, you must hold onto him tightly. As the saying goes, to capture a man's heart, you must first capture his stomach. Hey, hey, hey, I'll go buy two more recipes tomorrow morning!"

But Abigail couldn't understand the system's mother's heart. She ate until her mouth was full of red sauce. "No, I stewed a big pot of it. I can still eat it tomorrow and cook some noodles the day after tomorrow."

After eating, Abigail slumped on the chair. She patted her stomach and gently touched the dog's butt with the tip of her foot. "How about sleeping here tonight?"

Fortunately, Loki couldn't understand what Abigail was saying. If he knew that she was openly asking a man to stay overnight, he would be so angry that he would flip the plate in his hand.

He finished his dinner gracefully, wiped his mouth with a handkerchief, and bent his fingers to scratch the windowsill.

Abigail ran over and picked up the plate to wash it.

Loki grabbed her arm. "Where did the dog come from?"

"It."

Abigail turned around and looked at the dog who was licking his paws. "It was quite early. I met it on the street. Its tail was tangled in the fence, so I helped it untie it."

Loki was stunned. He looked at the dog with a complicated expression. He didn't expect that someone would have such a stupid way of showing up.

"Then we became friends."

Abigail was proud. "It's great. There were a few bad guys who were following me, but it helped me chase them away!"

Although the dog didn't understand, seeing Abigail looking at it with a smile, it knew that she was praising it. So it barked reservedly and proudly.

Was it because he had lost all his magical power that he saw wrongly?

In a trance, Loki felt that it was really just a dog.

No, no, no.

Loki shook his head. He still had that much intuition. It could only be that this man was brewing a bigger conspiracy. He didn't hesitate to pretend to be a dog to get close to Abby.

"Why don't you keep it at home?" Loki suggested. This way, he could figure out what the other party's purpose was.

Abigail looked troubled. "I've mentioned it many times, but it seems that it doesn't want to be kept in captivity. It leaves after two days. I can't lock it up like you …"

She shut her mouth and looked at Loki embarrassedly.

Loki acted as if he didn't hear anything. He didn't take the opportunity to pester Abigail and ask her to let him go.

"So who are you?" Abigail asked softly. "If, if your family is worried, I can also …"

Loki raised his eyebrows and waited for her to say that she would let him go.

"I can also help you tell them that you're safe!" Abigail stuttered for a few seconds before saying it all in one breath.

It's impossible to let you go, absolutely impossible!

"Pfft —" Loki chuckled and shook his head. "My family won't worry about me."

"You really have a family."

Abigail, who was all alone, felt guilty. "Do, do you need me to go and see them …"

"You can't see them."

Loki rubbed Abigail's arm comfortingly with his finger. "They don't want to see me either. Maybe in their hearts, it's best if I'm dead."

"No way …" Abigail didn't know how other families got along with each other, but she thought that if she had a family, she would treat them like treasures. "What about your other friends?"

"No one wants to be my friend." Loki thought of the group of warriors in the divine realm who only knew how to flatter Thor's muscles, and his face became colder.

"I'm very willing!" Abigail took advantage of the situation. "I'm willing to be your friend!"

"We're friends now." Loki lowered his head and smiled.

Of course not.

Abigail laughed twice. The two were still stuck in the relationship of an acquaintance, and their affection couldn't increase.

The two of them had ulterior motives, but on the surface, they chatted harmoniously for a while. Abigail went to wash the dishes.

The young paparazzo was stunned for a while, then he tried to open the door. Abigail dried her hands and opened the door in front of him. It was raining outside. The young paparazzo took a look, then turned around and went into the house.

It was raining outside. Abigail locked the door and sat under the window with her computer. Loki sat on the windowsill reading a book, and the dog dozed off on the carpet. The System looked at the harmonious scene and said lovingly, "If there were five more children …"

Thunder rumbled and lightning flashed outside the window. Abigail shrunk her neck. "Why is it raining so heavily all of a sudden?"

Loki also felt that there was something wrong with the rain tonight, especially the thunder. It was quite annoying.

He closed the book and wanted to pat Abigail's shoulder and ask her what was going on outside.

Suddenly, the whole house seemed to be hit by something. The dog was shocked and stood up and barked at the door. Abigail stared at the roof and didn't dare to move.

Another hit!

The roof was shaking!

She grabbed Loki's wrist. "Earthquake?"

The thunder outside was getting louder and louder. With such a big movement, Loki had enough reason to suspect that his brother was here!

He said in a low and fast voice, "Let me out quickly."

Abigail shook her head. "It's safer inside the house."

"Are you crazy?

What if the house collapses! "Loki scolded." Let me out quickly! "

"It won't collapse." Abigail promised. "Don't worry, this is the most …"

"I said, let me out."

Loki's usual gentle expression changed. He grabbed Abigail's wrist and pulled her up.

He couldn't let Thor take him away like this. He was no match for the Thunder God without his magical power. Besides, he had been well taken care of by Abby these days. His lips were red and his teeth were white. He couldn't even pretend to be pitiful.

If he was found in such a situation, he would definitely be in trouble!

Besides, he looked down at Abby who didn't know what was going on. Thor didn't have a brain. He would definitely think that Abby was his accomplice. If he took her back to the Asgard for trial, her small body would fall apart in less than a minute.

There was another thunder outside. Abigail struggled slightly. She was in pain from Loki's pull.

What was more painful was that Loki's favorability towards her was increasing!

She looked at the system panel. Loki's favorability towards her fluctuated between high and low. She was frightened. The progress bar soared to 30 for a while, and then it went straight to zero. She was about to have a heart attack.

They confronted each other for a while until a small twig hooked Loki's hand.

Four eyes stared at the green twig with two leaves. Abigail could even see its face (?)

Eyes and mouth (?)

"What's this?" Loki asked.

"I don't know." Abigail answered blankly.

The tense atmosphere was eased, and the thunder outside the window gradually quieted down.

Before Abigail could breathe a sigh of relief, she heard someone knocking on the door.

Loki's slightly relaxed hand clenched again. Abigail looked back at the door and then back at the nervous Loki. She shook her head, indicating that she wouldn't open the door.
