Chapter 212: Rock Crystal

Even though Yun Yi had strong mental fortitude, he had never seen such a frightening sight, and he couldn’t help but feel a bit scared of this Rock Demon.

Yun Yi’s eyes sparkled with cold light. He didn’t believe that there was such a thing as true immortality in this world. The Rock Demon must have a secret, or maybe, the entire Hundred Spirit Realm held great secrets.

Only a very special place could give rise to such an immortal being.

Black Wind floated nearby, quietly observing the changes in the Rock Demon. With his keen eyes, he couldn’t figure out what was happening.

Yun Yi killed the Rock Demon three more times. He was a determined person. After discovering that the Rock Demon couldn’t be killed, he didn’t just choose to leave. With his strength and the Freedom Wings, it would be very easy for him to leave this place.

But Yun Yi had to find out the truth. The Undead Rock Demon surely existed in large numbers. If he didn’t uncover the secret, he would face endless trouble in this Hundred Spirit Realm, and when encountering a Rock Demon, he would have no choice but to run away.

Just as Yun Yi thought, after dying eight times, the Rock Demon came back to life for the ninth time. However, this time, the Rock Demon did not attack Yun Yi again but turned and fled into the mountain valley.

Seeing the Rock Demon’s move, Yun Yi’s eyes suddenly brightened. “I understand now! This Rock Demon isn’t really immortal; it can have nine lives because of the environment here. Hmph! You won’t get away from me!”

Yun Yi shouted loudly, his body swaying as he turned into a phantom, quickly catching up to the Rock Demon. With fiery fists, he struck down, shattering the Rock Demon’s body for the ninth time.

This time, Yun Yi stared unblinkingly at the fallen Rock Demon. Just as he had guessed, the Rock Demon did not come back to life again but was completely dead, turning into a pile of rubble.

“A Nine-Lived Rock Demon? This mere Rock Demon actually has nine lives. What a surprise!”

Black Wind couldn’t help but say.

“It’s not just being truly immortal that matters; there is always a way to deal with it. However, even having nine lives is quite terrifying. If many Rock Demons appear in the Hundred Spirit Realm, it will be an unimaginable disaster for the young disciples who came here to train.”

Yun Yi said, “Having nine lives isn’t scary, and strong attack power isn’t scary either. What is frightening is the ability to keep resurrecting during battle; it can easily disturb the opponent’s mind. It’s better if one knows that Rock Demons have nine lives. If they don’t know, they can easily lose their focus during the fight.”

Yun Yi turned his head and looked again at the Rock Demon fragments scattered on the ground and was surprised to see a white light flowing out from one of the stones.

“Oh! What is this?”

Curious, Yun Yi waved his hand, and with a flicker of spiritual power, the stone fragments scattered. A creamy-white crystal the size of an egg appeared. With a simple gesture, the crystal flew up and landed in Yun Yi’s hand.

The crystal felt icy to the touch, and an immense energy flowed from it, making Yun Yi’s heart tremble.

“This is a Rock Crystal, left behind by the Rock Demon after it died, similar to the Demon Spirit of a demon beast. It contains exceptionally pure energy, but considering the nature of the Rock Demon, this Rock Crystal should be more suitable for Earth Spirit Body Spirit Cultivators to practice with.”

Black Wind said.

“Let me try it.”
