Persatuben Prins
Chapter 8
He followed Severus all the way from the auditorium to his basement office. They didn't meet many people along the way. Severus probably chose a quiet place to go, but it still felt weird being scrutinized by a portrait.
Along the way, Posituben had been thinking about how to introduce the matter of 'confessing to Professor Snape' to Severus.
But the problem was that he had been in the dorm the whole time and had never left. How could he explain that?
Suddenly, Pessatuben was distracted and bumped into Severus. Severus stopped and was hit by the distracted Pessatuben.
"Are you trying to murder your dean, Mr. Prins? You're as reckless as a Gryffindor.
Or are you trying to take revenge on your dean because of the rumors? "Severus turned around and whispered to Pessatuben with a frown.
"No —" Pessatuben wanted to explain.
Obviously, Severus didn't intend to listen any further.
Pessatuben could only obediently follow Severus into the office.
The office was filled with glass bottles filled with all kinds of strange materials. Coupled with the eerie green light, it looked even more eerie. Not to mention, there was a Slytherin King sitting in front of him. If he wasn't careful, he wouldn't even know if he was bitten to death.
"Professor Snape," Pessatuben still told the truth, "I've been in the dorm since I left the auditorium. I didn't go out until dinner time."
"That's enough." Severus frowned, "I didn't call you here to listen to this. Use your little brain on potions. I'm sure even Ravenclaw can't compare to you."
"About the cold potion." Severus put the small paper on the table, "Tell me more about it."
Pessatuben was stunned for a moment, but quickly regained his composure, "Actually, I feel like my ears are smoking after drinking it. It's unbearable —"
"Speak — more — seriously."
Severus glanced at the paper, and Pessatuben hurriedly picked out the useful parts.
The two then tested the feasibility of the paper. Obviously, the results weren't satisfactory, but at least the direction of the paper was feasible. Severus unexpectedly praised Pessatuben.
Before Bosatuben rushed back to his dormitory, Bosatuben had also received a 'Potion Material Processing' mission for the next two weeks. It was beautifully named: If you want to become a Potion Master, you need to understand all kinds of materials.
As for the source of the rumor, it was impossible to find out who had spread it.
Even though the rumors had been stopped, who knew if there would be people who would continue to talk about it in private?
Severus was obviously dissatisfied with this result.
Since only the students sitting near Pessatuben were able to see this scene, and almost all of these students belonged to Gryffindor, Severus used all sorts of excuses to reduce Gryffindor's grades. This situation only improved when Halloween came.
"That damned Prince. As a Slythrin, he's always hanging out with Gryffindor. One day, he'll be like them. His head will be empty, and there will only be Achnatherum left."
Three days before Halloween, Pessatuben received a package for the first time. It was from the Princes Manor's butler, Gigi the elf. Pessatuben had been spending all his time in the library and did not receive the package during lunchtime.
Fortunately, Pessatuben had a good relationship with Pessatuben, so the package was not pranked and was delivered to Pessatuben in one piece.
There were only two things in the package: a letter from Gigi and a securely packaged seed.
Gigi's letter was long and thick. It covered everything in the manor, big and small, as well as Gigi's feelings. Pessatuben's face reddened when he saw all the praises in the letter. He quickly skimmed through the letter, and nothing unexpected happened. He put down the letter and turned to look at the seed that seemed to have a silver-green surface.
The seed came from a plant in the manor's basement.
Pessatuben found this plant in his original world. It was called Nirvana.
As the name suggested, it could bring the dead back to life. However, it was not as magical as it seemed. Pessatuben believed that the plant was like a mutated ginseng. It could keep a person alive even if they were heavily injured. The seed was the most enviable part of the plant.
When the seed first grew, it needed to be watered with a person's blood. Then, the seed would become a plant with a soul. During the growth process, it also needed blood. Anyone's blood could be used. The growth speed was directly proportional to the amount of blood that was used.
When the plant was fully grown, it would become a substitute for the person who first watered it. Even if the person died, as long as the person's soul did not dissipate, they could come back to life.
However, due to the rarity of this plant and the harsh conditions for its growth, other than a few important people, no one knew of the existence of this plant. Because of Posatu's ability, he had dealt with this plant before and secretly saved one. He wanted to make one for himself, but he didn't expect that it would be of greater use now.
Since he was going to follow the storyline, Severus would have to experience it. Some things should be prepared early.
Pessatuben stroked the seed in his hand. He did not want Severus to get hurt, but he was afraid. He was afraid that if something went wrong, or if the butterfly went somewhere, would the story change?
Would the story turn bad?
Pessatuben did not dare to experiment with these things because they could not be redone.
Pessatuben could only suppress the sadness in his heart. He kept the seed in a necklace that could store items in the center and wore it close to his body.
After spending some time together, Pessatuben felt that Severus was not as harsh as he thought. After going through so many things together, Severus was just used to disguising himself with his expression and words. In reality, he was still very warm inside. Hm …
Perhaps it was because he was researching potions with Pessatuben that Severus finally found someone he could talk to. Even though Severus still kept a straight face, whenever Pessatuben asked a question, Severus would answer it seriously as long as it wasn't too stupid. Even if the question was a little silly, Pessatuben would not be mocked. At most, Pessatuben would roll his eyes or sneer at him.
That night, Pessatuben mustered up his courage and said, "Professor Snape, Halloween is the day after tomorrow."
"That has nothing to do with me." Severus did not even raise his head as he continued to grade his homework.
Pessatuben did the final cleaning as he asked, "Will Professor Snape participate in the Halloween event?"
Pessatuben was met with silence.
"Will Professor Snape put candy in the party?"
"Crack!" The quill in Severus's hand was broken. He then picked up another one as if nothing had happened. The broken quill was burned to ashes by a silent curse. "You're so young, yet you're already thinking of drinking the tooth strengthening potion as a source of water in the future? Has your little brain been invaded by chee grass?
Or have you been infected by Gryffindor?
All you can think of is candy?
Who would be that bored? "
Professor, if your eyebrows weren't so furrowed that you could squash a fly, I don't think I would be so bored as to ask this question, Pessatuben thought. Severus' personality was already so unlikeable, and his words made people want to run away.
Maybe Severus didn't hate knocking on the door on Halloween?
"I will, Professor. Can I ask for candy?" Pessatuben said with an expectant expression.
"Are you done?" Severus suddenly raised his head and asked.
"?" Pessatuben nodded. "I'm done."
And so, Severus stepped over the table, grabbed Pessatuben's collar, and threw him out the door. "Go back and clean up your brain. I think it's been invaded by a slug. You asked so many useless questions. Now, go back to your dorm."
The door slammed shut. Severus had clearly placed Pessatuben in a perfect position. There was only two fingers' width between the door and the tip of Pessatuben's nose.
Pessatuben rubbed his nose awkwardly. Maybe Severus was embarrassed?
He sighed and returned to Slytherin's dorm.
"Hey, Pessatuben, why are you unhappy?" Gamma sharply sensed the sadness under Pessatuben's expressionless face.
"Gamma, you're still awake?"
Pessatuben looked at the clock on the wall. It was already half past ten. If he hadn't been organizing materials for Severus, Pessatuben would've returned to the common room before curfew.
"I'm about to go. Hey, cheer up. Freshmen should really like Halloween. After all, it's their first Halloween in this magical place, right?" Gamma comforted him.
"Alright."
Pessatuben could only sigh. If Severus became honest, he'd probably be scarier. He could only give up and do what he had to do. "Gamma, rest early. I'm going back. Good night."
"Good night."
After returning to the dormitory to wash up and lie down, Posthumben quickly fell asleep.
Pessatuben dreamed of a young Severus. The young Severus stood beside a tree, his mouth opening and closing as he spoke. However, Pessatuben couldn't make out what he was saying. As he spoke, Severus suddenly grew up into his current silent self. He stood in front of Pessatuben. The wound on his neck from Nagini's bite was bleeding profusely, but he didn't seem to feel any pain.
"Seph!"
Pessatuben shouted in shock. He wanted to run over but was stopped by a force. He could only watch as Severus' figure disappeared. "Seph!" Pessatuben cried out in despair.
