Chapter 4

Ding Jae-chan came back with drinks and followed the smell to the kitchen, only to see Shin Hee-moon's busy figure.

Her long hair was casually tied up, and she was wearing an apron with a bear pattern on it. It was a strange contrast to her usual delicate and meticulous appearance. It turned out that the prosecutor turned out to be quite … cute.

She was cooking with her head down. The collar of her sweater was a little low, revealing a slender neck. Under the light, her skin was so white that it almost glowed.

Ding Jae-chan stood at the kitchen door and stared blankly. He clearly felt that his throat was a little tight, but he couldn't look away.

"Why are you standing there like an idiot?

Wash your hands and serve the dishes. "

Shin Hee-moon had heard the footsteps and knew that he was back. She waited for a while, but he didn't come back, so she looked up and said.

Looking into her clear and confused eyes, Ding Jae-chan suddenly realized what was going on. His cheeks quickly flushed, and before she could say anything, he had already turned around and ran away.

What happened?

Shin Hee-moon stood there with a spatula in her hand, confused. Just as she was about to call out to him, she heard a "plop" sound from the living room, followed by Ding Jae-chan's angry voice. "Ah Xi!"

So … did he fall down?

She thought that he only had a low EQ, but it turned out that he was not good at sports either.

She couldn't help but laugh when she imagined Ding Jae-chan's long arms and legs sprawling on the ground.

When Ding Sheng-yuan came back from school, he was just in time for dinner.

Ding Jae-chan had told him that there would be a guest coming, so he wasn't too surprised to see the sumptuous dinner on the table. He was more curious about Shin Hee-moon.

It was not strange that they hadn't had a guest in a long time, let alone a woman that his brother had brought home.

No matter how he thought about it, he felt that there was something fishy going on.

Ding Jae-chan didn't notice his brother's strange thoughts. All his attention was on the table in front of him.

There were yellow egg rolls, steaming hot and fragrant soy sauce soup, and a large plate of spicy stir-fried pork that looked extraordinarily good …

The aroma of the food wafted through the air, whetting one's appetite. He unconsciously took a deep breath, then looked up at the smiling Shin Hee-moon beside him, and finally came to a conclusion.

A beautiful, gentle, and top-notch junior with excellent culinary skills. He really didn't know which brat would benefit from her in the future!

Shin Hee-moon scooped out the soup spoons and placed them in front of everyone. When she sat down, she didn't forget to be modest. "I haven't cooked much recently, so I can't guarantee the taste. Try it."

"Then let's start eating," Ding Jae-chan imitated the tone of a kindergartener and scooped a spoonful of soup into his mouth.

Well, he wanted to emphasize what he had said earlier.

The time and heat were controlled very well. The vegetables were cooked until they were soft on the outside and crispy on the inside. The soup was thick but not too salty. In addition to the finely chopped watercress, there was still the faint taste of clams on the tip of the tongue. It was delicious.

Even Ding Sheng-yuan, who was quite knowledgeable about food, couldn't help but have his eyes light up.

She was beautiful and good at cooking. His brother had good taste.

After eating and drinking to his heart's content, Ding Jae-chan volunteered to wash the dishes.

Previously, he had bragged that he would cook, but in the end, the guest had to do it herself. If he asked her to wash the dishes again, he would be too shameless.

Ding Sheng-yuan sat on the sofa and pushed the fruit plate on the coffee table in front of Shin Hee-moon. Then, he asked tentatively, "Sister Xiwen and my brother are from the same school, right?"

"Yes, your brother is one year older than me," Shin Hee-moon nodded and added.

"That's right."

Ding Sheng-yuan muttered to himself. After thinking for a while, he asked again, "Then … what do you think of my brother?"

Wow, he's quite smart despite his young age. He even wants to learn from adults.

Shin Hee-moon thought it was funny. She raised her eyebrows and didn't say anything. She just stared at him until the young man felt a little uncomfortable. Then, she slowly asked, "Sheng-yuan, do you have a girl you like?"

"Huh?" Ding Sheng-yuan didn't expect her to ask this. He was stunned for a moment and then looked away in embarrassment.

But in the end, he didn't refute …

Shin Hee-moon chuckled. She didn't tease him anymore. Instead, she softened her tone and said, "It seems that our Sheng-yuan can understand how I feel. If that's the case, promise me that you'll keep it a secret for me."

Ding Sheng-yuan could only nod his head.

Shin Hee-moon left the Ding family's house around 8: 30 PM. The neighborhood was a little remote, so it wasn't easy to get a taxi. Fortunately, it was quite close to the bus stop. There should be another bus at this time.

Sitting side by side with Shin Hee-moon in the bus stop, Ding Jae-chan thought for the first time that it was really inconvenient to not have a car.

At this time, no one was waiting for a bus except for the two of them. The surroundings were extremely quiet. The cold night wind blew on their bodies. Shin Hee-moon wrapped her coat tightly around herself. She tapped her toes on the ground to warm up her stiff ankles.

She didn't wear a down jacket when she went out today. She only wore a thin woolen coat. Now that the cold wind was blowing, she couldn't help but regret it.

Just as she was feeling upset, a warm coat covered her shoulders. She turned her head in surprise and saw Ding Jae-chan frowning. He said mercilessly, "You dare to come out wearing so little? I really wonder if you have a brain. You really don't care about anything for beauty, right?"

After taking off his coat, she saw that he was only wearing a thermal shirt. Did he think that she couldn't see that he was trembling slightly?

He didn't mean what he said.

Shin Hee-moon felt warm in her heart. She smiled and listened to his scolding. She didn't get angry. She just nodded at him. "Come here."

"What?" Ding Jae-chan looked at her from the corner of his eyes. He didn't move.

If the mountain doesn't come to me, I'll go to the mountain.

Shin Hee-moon sighed softly. She moved to his side under his puzzled gaze. Then, she opened the coat on her shoulders and gently put it on his shoulders.

"Okay."

She looked at him with a smile. "You're right. I wore too little for beauty. It won't happen again."

Ding Jae-chan suddenly couldn't say a word.

No matter how big the coat was, it couldn't fit two people. They sat side by side. In fact, it was only their backs. However, he felt that their arms that were tightly pressed together were warm, and it was gradually spreading.

Since when did things become so strange between them?

As long as he touched her slightly, his whole body would stiffen. He would no longer be as calm and collected as before.

Before he could sort out his messy emotions, the bus arrived.

"The bus is here. Then … Goodbye." Shin Hee-moon put down her coat and stood up.

Ding Jae-chan also stood up.

After taking two steps forward, she stopped again. She lowered her head in silence for two seconds. Then, she turned around and hugged him with open arms.

"Ding Jae-chan, thank you."

Her head was pressed against his chest, and every word she said seemed to pass through her chest and hit his eardrums directly.

He could feel his chest suffocating. His heart was beating faster than ever.

There was no moon that night.

It was very cold that night.

He put his coat on her.

She hugged him back.
