The Best of You
Chapter 19
Jung Ho-seok left.
When he woke up early in the morning, his luggage was gone.
The group of people sat quietly around the small table and ate breakfast. Anyang expressionlessly took a bite of the sandwich he had just received.
After the sandwiches were distributed, Kim So-jin came back to his senses. "Oh, I made an extra one."
There should be one more because there was one less person.
"Ah, you can bring it to the practice room for …" Before Kim Tae-hang could finish his sentence, Anyang and Tian Jiuguo reached out to grab the remaining sandwiches at the same time. They each tore half of it and swallowed it in two or three bites.
Anyang ate too quickly and accidentally choked. He drank the milk in one gulp and knocked the cup on the table. Tian Jiuguo followed suit.
"I'm done."
Kim So-jin was a little helpless. "You don't have to eat so quickly. If you're not full, just take it."
Min Yoon-ki looked at the two boys and did not say anything.
After that morning's practice class, Anyang almost vomited because he was too full. He was the type who could not eat much in the morning, but he ate half an extra sandwich.
Tian Jiuguo, the big eater, was fine. Only Anyang was nagged by his big brother for more than half an hour.
Kim Tae-hang, who was sitting next to him, rubbed his stomach and complained, "Brother, if you can't eat, then don't eat."
Without Jung Ho-seok all of a sudden, everyone was not used to it.
Anyang and Park Ji-min took over the tutoring of the broken lines. However, as they taught, they would always subconsciously look for Ho-seok to confirm the movements. Halfway through, they would suddenly realize that the person they were looking for was no longer there.
Anyang squatted on the ground, discouraged. When he looked up, he saw the two new trainees opening Ho-seok's cabinet and putting things inside.
"Ah, what are you doing?"
The two were startled by Anyang, who walked behind them and asked with a cold face. They were at a loss as to what to do.
"I'm asking a question.
Are you not going to answer? "
"Brother."
Park Ji-min gently tugged at Anyang and smiled at the nervous juniors. "Sorry, there's someone here. You guys can change to another cabinet."
The new man bowed, stuffed his things into another cupboard, and hurried away.
"You're really something," Min Yoon-ki said after Anyang came over. "You're venting your anger on others, and you still need your brother to clean up after you?"
Anyang lowered his head and remained silent. Min Yoon-ki frowned and looked at his roommates. "Go back early tonight. I have something to say."
In the evening, they held a family meeting. The focus of the meeting was Anyang.
"Ho-seok quits. No one is happy about it, but you?
Zhi Min is doing better than you. You've wasted your one year of life. "
"If you have any opinions, don't express them on the surface. Do you want to be chased out of the house by getting into a conflict with someone at this sensitive time?"
"You have to put on a good front. Who are you targeting with your dissatisfaction?
pd?
Or representative? "
"A few days ago, you ignored Li Xiuxiong when he talked to you, right?
Does he have the final say in entering Team A? "
"Wait a minute!"
Anyang couldn't help but interrupt Min Yoon-ki. "I didn't ignore him on purpose. I was in a daze, so I didn't hear him call me."
Kim So-jin interrupted with a serious face. "What's the difference?
What others saw was that you ignored him.
And Jiuguo, don't always learn from your Brother Anyang. You didn't learn anything good, but you didn't learn anything bad. "
He hurriedly glanced at his eldest brother and then at An Yang. He didn't say anything.
Kim So-jin knew that he didn't listen to him. He accepted it humbly and was determined not to change.
Min Yoon-ki crossed his arms and stared at Anyang. "Did you hear what I said just now?
Pay attention to your expression, okay? "
To be honest, these words sounded unreal coming from Min Yoon-ki's mouth.
Ye Yizhou had told Anyang about the first time he met Min Yoon-ki. The young man from Daegu, who had just arrived in Seoul, was weak, but he didn't lose out to others. When he was provoked underground, he didn't say anything. He didn't even give the other party any face. After he was on stage, he didn't forget to give the senior who provoked him the middle finger. If Ye Yizhou hadn't stopped him, he might have been beaten up.
The person who disdained superficial skills the most was now teaching his younger brother to put on a good front.
Anyang and Kim Nam-joon looked at each other and couldn't help but laugh.
Min Yoon-ki rolled up the magazine beside him and knocked on their heads. "What are you laughing at?!
All of you, pay attention, do you hear me?! "
"Nei …"
"Oh yes, isn't there an empty bed in the hostel? Should we ask Li Xiuxiong to come over?
After all, we are in the same team now. "
Anyang immediately pulled a long face. "No."
Nei agreed with her brother. "Bro, let's empty the bed to put things. There are a lot of things recently."
"Okay." Kim So-jin also mentioned it. His younger brothers didn't like it.
"Let's wait a little longer." Min Yoon-ki tapped his palm. "If he really is on the debut list, he will have to move in sooner or later. At that time, the teacher will also say that there's no rush. We'll talk about it next week."
Anyang stared at his fingers in a daze. Although he and Kim Nam-joon went to look for PDNIM, it was still unknown if Jung Ho-seok would come back.
He didn't know if his one-sided promise to "come back early" could be fulfilled.
— — —
There were only two days left before the week Min Yoon-ki set, but there was no news from the company.
"Nam Joon, do you think the company really went to talk to Ho-seok?"
"I don't know. PDNIM didn't mention this to me."
Because of this, Kim Nam-joon secretly inquired about it from time to time in the name of consulting, but he didn't hear much useful information.
Anyang sat on the swivel chair in the company's studio, looking up at the ceiling in a daze.
He thought of something and immediately turned to Min Yoon-ki, who was busy modifying the song. "Bro!"
"What?
If you have something to say, say it quickly. "
"I remember that Ho-seok had made a demo before, but he didn't hand it in. Is it still on this computer?"
Min Yoon-ki opened the computer disk and searched. "There are still a few that haven't been deleted."
"Let's perfect this and make it a complete song, then give it to PDNIM." Anyang looked at the two people who turned their heads. "Just take it as a bargaining chip."
"We can try," Min Yoon-ki said as he opened a demo and called Kim Nam-joon over. "Listen to this. Just help him modify the details."
Anyang leaned over and listened. The three of them drank coffee until three or four in the morning, and finally finished modifying the song.
"Give it to PDNIM tomorrow. Let's call it a day." Min Yoon-ki stood up and threw the empty coffee into the trash can. "Let's go back."
Kim Nam-joon yawned and stood up. He turned his head and found that Anyang had fallen asleep on the table.
"What? You fell asleep in a second." She smiled speechlessly and reached out to shake An Yang up. "Wake up, go back to sleep."
Anyang woke up and couldn't open his eyes. He sounded sleepy. "I drank fake coffee. It didn't work at all."
Jin Nanjun smiled and supported the man who couldn't even walk steadily out of the studio.
Being blown by the cold wind outside, An Yang shivered and suddenly woke up.
The three of them walked on the dark street. In the silence of Seoul, only their own footsteps could be heard.
"Brother, I just had a dream."
Min Yoon-ki snorted to prove that he was listening.
"I dreamed that you were celebrating my birthday. Zhi Min brought me a watermelon cake, but it turned into strawberries after it was cut open."
Kim Nam-joon couldn't help but laugh. "Ah, isn't that Tai Heng's favorite?"
"Yes, it must be because he keeps telling me that he wants to eat strawberries. Next time, I must cover his mouth."
"It's just a dream. Why did you do that to the child?" Although he said that, Kim Tae-hang's direct supervisor laughed more happily than anyone else.
"I even dreamt of Brother Yunqi. He called me Brother."
"What?!" Min Yoon-ki stopped in surprise and turned to look at Anyang.
Anyang fearlessly repeated, "Brother Yoon called me Brother Anyang."
"Ah, you really, are you itching for a beating?"
Min Yoon-ki was angry and amused at the same time. He wanted to raise his hand to hit him, but this kid quickly grabbed his wrist and pressed it down.
"Don't be angry, brother." Anyang smiled and pulled him. "Don't they say that dreams are the opposite of reality?
I also dreamed that Nam Joon put together a Lego death star for me. "He emphasized," Not a single part was broken. He put it together perfectly and gave it to me. "
Min Yoon-ki laughed. "That's really a miracle that can only be seen in dreams."
Kim Nam-joon, who was walking on the side and laughing, was innocently implicated. "Ah!
It's not like I'll break things every time. "
Anyang laughed and dodged the hand of his peer who wanted to grab him. He continued to describe his dream. "I also saw a number … Hmm?"
They joked all the way until they reached the dormitory building. Under the dim street lights, they saw a figure with his back facing them.
It felt like a slowed down movie clip. He turned around and showed a familiar smiling face.
"Hello seniors, I'm Jung Ho-seok from Guangzhou, born in 1994."
The three of them were stunned for a moment. After they reacted, they quickly ran over. Even the usually calm Min Yoon-ki could not hide his excitement and hugged his brother who had just returned.
"Are you back?"
"Yes, I'm back."
