The Last Cat in the Universe
Chapter 1
On a desolate grassland, there was a small white ball lying quietly in the shade.
It was a cat.
His entire body was snow-white, and his fur was glossy and shiny. The tip of his nose was a beautiful pink, and his eyes were as clear as sapphires soaked in the color of the ocean.
This cat's name was Yue An.
This was the name given to him by his first owner.
The white cat leisurely swung its tail in the shade, then sat up. The thin tail behind it shook slightly, and suddenly, several snow-white tails appeared at the root of its back.
The cat's face was very nervous, and he turned his head to carefully count his tails.
One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight.
Eight!
After counting his tails, the white cat was very satisfied. He carefully looked at the ninth tail, which had already appeared as a small shadow, and carefully stroked it.
Then, as if he had really touched it, he revealed a very satisfied expression, and even comfortably snored.
Yue An gently swung the eight real tails on his back, and the extra tails that had appeared were like folding fans, and returned to one tail.
Legend had it that every twenty years a cat cultivated, it would grow a tail. When the cat grew nine tails, it would be considered a success, and it would be able to become an immortal.
However, when the ninth tail was about to grow, the cat would receive a message from the heavens to fulfill a person's wish. Any wish would be possible.
However, fulfilling someone's wish would result in losing one's tail. Therefore, the cat would always be left with eight tails, and it would never be able to become an immortal.
Yue An was a young cat. He had never lost his tail before, and he did not want to lose his tail.
However, the young cat did not accept his fate. While the guards in the clan were not paying attention, he secretly used the array left behind by the only cat who had successfully become an immortal, and was transported to this place where there were no humans.
Yue An counted the days, and his ninth tail was about to grow.
However, there were no humans here!
Yue An was very happy. He yawned, stretched, and proudly swung his tail, licking his soft and beautiful fur.
This was a paradise where only animals existed.
The dry season had come to an end, and the barren grassland that had been ravaged by high temperatures was about to receive sweet rain.
Yue An smelled the slight moisture in the air, and it brought a hint of coolness to the dry and hot grassland.
The snow-white cat stood up, shook his fur, and jumped onto the big rock that he usually used to sharpen his claws.
Yue An's petite body stood upright, and he thought of the lions he had seen on TV. He thought of the lions with a luxuriant mane, and he happily imitated the lion's mane and roared loudly.
"Meow!"
The tender cry did not scare anyone, not even the birds nearby who raised their heads high to watch out for their natural enemies.
Yue An: "…"
How angry.
You all wait for me to become an immortal!
Yue An An An An's's voice..
Yue An lowered his head and looked at his claws. He stretched out his fingernails and gently scratched the big stone under his feet. Only when he saw five deep scratches did he retract his claws in satisfaction.
He jumped off the rock, straightened his tail, and swaggered towards the water reservoir in his territory.
Yue An had been in this place where spiritual energy was scarce for a few decades. Ever since he had five tails, he had encircled his territory and had not moved from his home.
In fact, it was an exaggeration to say that this place lacked spiritual energy. Even during the Age of Chaos, when few cats were able to awaken their intelligence and cultivate, the spiritual energy here was not as scarce.
Yue An could more or less guess that he was no longer on Earth.
The oxygen here was thin, and the animals and plants here were much smaller than those on Earth.
The sky was always gray with a tinge of red. The heat did not come from the sun, but from the ground.
However, that did not matter.
His long tail had nothing to do with spiritual energy. As long as he was alive, his tail would grow. The thinness of the spiritual energy was only related to the power of his small spells.
For example, the thunder spell that could destroy a wall in the past could only be used to … catch fish in this place where spiritual energy was almost non-existent.
Yue An kept fish in his water reservoir. During the dry season, some small animals would occasionally sneak into his territory and steal some. Yue An would sometimes find out, but he did not care.
It was all for the sake of survival. It was just that others lived a tight life, while he lived a more carefree life.
When he became a deity, he would be even more carefree!
Yue An was holding a fainted fish in his mouth. He walked towards his home and fantasized happily.
When he became a deity, he could eat one fish and throw one away. He could also eat chickens that he loved to eat. He did not need to catch small sparrows anymore. He could just catch a big phoenix!
Judging from his size, the white cat was not yet an adult. He was happily taking small steps. If it were not for the fish in his mouth, he would even be singing.
Yue An's fish pond was a bit far from his home.
Before he officially became a monster, he was a pampered house cat. His first owner was a cute little girl who spoiled him so much. Unfortunately, the little girl's mother was pregnant with her second child, so she sent Yue An back to their hometown in the countryside.
Yue An gained intelligence at that time. It was also at that time that the cat demon senior, who was wandering outside, brought him back to the family.
The little girl raised Yue An for more than a year. Even Yue An developed many small habits.
For example, he could not have any strange smells around his home, he had to maintain a bright and beautiful appearance at all times, and he had to pay attention to his manners when eating.
Yue An had even marked out a place for himself to eat and bury the remains of his food.
Slightly to the right between his home and the fish pond, there was a piece of land that was not covered by weeds.
That was Yue An's dining room.
Yue An put down the fish in his mouth and wagged his tail. Just as he was about to bite down, his ears suddenly pricked up. He raised his head and looked to the right in front of him.
Without any warning, he leaned back and kicked off with his hind legs. Like a bolt of white lightning, he suddenly leaped out!
Rustling sounds came from the weeds. When Yue An, who was two heads shorter than the weeds, reappeared, he was biting an animal that looked like a bird or a chicken.
This animal had already been bitten to death by Yue An. Yue An easily dragged the animal, which was twice his size, back to the dining room. He extended his extremely sharp nails and skillfully skinned the wild animal that had delivered itself to his door.
Then, he slowly licked the blood stains and minced meat off his body and claws. Only then did he bury his head and slowly eat the fish and the wild food that he had unexpectedly obtained.
It tasted like chicken, but it was more chewy. It was better than nothing.
Yue An slowly finished his meal and licked his claws to clean up the blood on his face. Finally, he began to dig a hole and prepared to bury the bones that he had left behind.
At that moment, a sudden clap of thunder came from the horizon.
The white cat, who was concentrating on digging the hole, jumped in shock. It raised its head to look at the red and misty sky.
It did not smell the dampness of the rain.
It should not be thunder at this time.
Just as Yue An had expected, the sky was silent for a few seconds after the thunder. Then, without any warning, a blinding flame bloomed.
The fiery light grew brighter and brighter. Eventually, it pierced through the foggy sky like a comet that had just broken through the atmosphere. With a long fiery tail, it smashed down toward the barren land with an aura that seemed capable of destroying the world.
Yue An watched as the comet came closer and closer. Finally, it streaked across the sky above his head. Accompanied by the violent tremors of the ground below, it landed …
?????
My nest!!!
The fish bone in Yue An's mouth fell to the ground with a thud. The cute cat's face was filled with confusion, grievance, and shock.
All the fur on his body stood on end. He did not care about burying the remains of his food. He turned his head and ran towards his nest.
Unfortunately, the outcome was already known.
Yue An squatted beside a huge grayish-black oval-shaped object that had fallen from the sky. He looked at the remains of his nest that he had built with great difficulty. He was so sad that he wanted to cry.
The white kitten's body was stained with soot, but it could not be bothered to clean itself up. It circled around the charcoal ball for a few steps and finally stopped. It meowed a few times in a delicate voice, as if it had been wronged.
After feeling wronged for a few seconds, he angrily scratched the soot ball that had destroyed his nest.
Yue An was a monster.
A monster's combat power was quite astonishing. His body was also very strong.
He angrily scratched the soot ball that had been scorched by the atmosphere. It was as easy as scratching a piece of paper.
After scratching for a while, Yue An felt a change in the sensation under his paw. It was as if he had touched something.
Then, a soft "crack" sound came from the inside of the soot ball.
Yue An's ears trembled. He became alert. He saw a crack appear in the middle of the soot ball.
Yue An retracted his paw and took a few steps back. The next moment, he saw the thing that was wrapped by the soot ball reveal its true appearance.
It was an egg-like thing that was emitting a milky white glow. However, it was not an egg. It was slowly opening up, revealing the thing that was protecting it.
It was a person.
A person who was in tatters. There was a hole in his stomach. His body was covered in blood and he was about to stop breathing.
This person was still breathing. He even slowly opened his eyes with great willpower.
A human!!!
The alarm in Yue An's heart suddenly went off. After he saw clearly what was inside the egg, he turned around and ran without hesitation.
But it was too late.
The cat that was about to grow his ninth tail felt a sign from the heavens. He could not help but hear the most desperate wish of the person who was about to die.
… He wanted to live.
He wanted to live.
Yue An pretended not to hear him. He ran desperately. As he ran, he felt his tail become lighter. He turned around and saw a tail that had landed on the ground.
Yue An stopped. He trembled and swung out all his tails. He counted them in disbelief. After counting, he howled in grief and indignation. He looked at his tail that had fallen off and the human who was recovering at a speed visible to the naked eye. He felt his vision turn black.
I …
F * ck you!!!!
