You've Crossed Over into the Homo Book
Chapter 4
003
Escape from a Hopeless Secret Room
That's right. The room was so bright now, and all the light was projected from outside the window. It must be broad daylight outside. She could see where she was with the light. Even if she took ten thousand steps back, she could at least jump out of the window.
Libella walked over to the window and realized that there was a small box hidden by the windowsill.
What is this?
Is there something on it?
Libella looked up and realized that Curly Hair was also looking up at her. Libella was startled, but when she met his gaze again, her heart suddenly started racing. She wanted to raise her hand to greet him to diffuse the awkwardness, but she realized that he didn't seem to see her at all.
What … Libella sighed and turned to look at the windowsill in the mirror room. There wasn't any small box there.
Sherlock retracted his gaze from the ceiling and was a little puzzled. When the light shone on the necklace, he realized that there were needle-like holes in the necklace. The light coming out of the holes formed two words — E.
here
Where should I go?
Sherlock looked at the necklace in his hand and then at the window. His lips curled. Of course, he had to go there. After all, he was facing the light now.
When he walked to the window, he saw that it was still foggy outside. There was nothing at all. Instead, there were two clear words on the window that surprised him — UP.
Up?
He looked up and only saw the old ceiling. He didn't know where the mystery was.
Just at this moment, a series of strange sounds came from behind him. It sounded like a music box.
Sherlock turned around. The fog in front of him slowly dissipated. Following that, a door appeared.
He raised his brows and walked in the direction of the door. He subconsciously turned back to look at the dead baby lying in the crib.
It looked like he wouldn't be able to find out the cause of this child's death.
Even though this was just a dream …
Sherlock frowned unhappily. He didn't like the feeling of being unable to solve a puzzle, but …
He still retracted his gaze and walked away. When he stepped into the fog, he suddenly felt someone pushing his shoulder.
"Mr. Sherlock Holmes?
Mr. Sherlock Holmes? "
Sherlock slowly opened his eyes and found that he had fallen asleep in a shop.
When he turned around, the person who had pushed him was a child he had asked out. This child was often active around Baker Street and was a beggar.
When the boy saw that Sherlock had opened his eyes, he heaved a sigh of relief. Then, he retracted his hand, feeling a little embarrassed. Mr. Sherlock Holmes didn't seem to like other people touching him.
Sherlock smiled reassuringly. He was not stingy with his smile towards the children. Of course, this did not mean that he liked children. It was just that compared to those stubborn adults, children were much more flexible.
He took out a piece of paper and handed it to him, then said, "Thank you."
"You're welcome, Mr. Sherlock Holmes!"
The teenager pushed the hat on his head and grinned. "We'll go to the back of Whitechapel and take a look."
Sherlock watched as the child turned and left the shop. He retracted his gaze and thoughtfully took out an unopened plastic bag. The collar should have been in his bag …
Tsk, why was he taking a nap in a place like this and having such a brainless dream? But the baby's bruised and swollen face in the dream was so real.
It was indeed real, especially for Libella.
On the other side of the mirror room, back to the moment when Libella opened the small box, there was a smoking pipe lying inside. The clues were all connected. It was still the painting in the morgue. The deer-hunting hat, the smoking pipe, and Sherlock Holmes.
She felt that her dream was surprisingly surprising. Now, let's see what's outside the window.
Libella moved closer to the window. Although it was very bright, it was a pity that it was foggy outside and she could not see anything. Then … why not try jumping out of the window?
Libella was eager to give it a try and slowly moved closer. Suddenly, a bloody handprint slammed on the window, very close to her face. Libella screamed and took half a step back. Then, she found that her leg had bumped into something.
"Ding …"
A crib?
But, but … the crib was right in the middle of the room. How did it end up behind her?!
Libella slowly turned her head and found that the ringing sound was indeed from the bell on the crib, and the crib was right behind her. Not only that, what made her almost kick the crib over was … the dead baby that originally existed in the mirror room where Mr. Curly Hair was in was now lying in the crib here.
Libella was extremely shocked, but found that the bell on the crib could not stop ringing. In fact, it seemed to be getting louder. At this time, the eyes on the dead baby's bruised face that were originally closed opened. The eyeballs slowly moved and then locked onto Libella.
Don't do this!
Libella wanted to cry. Why did the baby stand up?!
Aren't you dead?!
The moment the baby stood up, the ringing of the bell finally stopped. Instead, it was replaced by the sound of a violin. The violin was composed of several notes, but strangely, it was an infinite loop.
Alright, there was no running away. This was definitely not a simple escape room decryption game. It was very likely that there were supernatural elements added to it.
Libella took a step to the left, picked up the pipe next to her, and ran out. When she turned back to lock the door, she found that the baby had actually climbed out of the crib and was staggering towards her. It even opened its arms as if it wanted to be hugged.
No hugging!
Libella decisively closed the door, and the doorknob locked itself with a click.
She returned to the corridor again. There was the sound of banging on the door of the morgue room, and the cries of the baby came from the room she had just left. Now, another door that was originally locked was opened, and several strange notes from the violin came from inside. The door that seemed to be able to let her out of here was still closed.
She had to end this quickly.
Quickly gathering her emotions, Libella walked into the room that had been opened. There was only one music box in the room, and the strange music came from it. However, there were mirrors on all six sides of the room. When she walked into the room, she could not see herself.
Libella rolled her eyes. This was nothing. The dead baby stood up on its own, and the dead body spat out blood to keep time. Compared to this, not being able to see herself in the mirror was nothing!
She looked behind the door. The only place that she had not checked earlier was behind the door. There was a long trench coat there. Libella removed the coat, but the music box continued to play. This seriously interfered with her train of thought, and it made her feel strangely agitated. It even suppressed the shock she felt from being scared by the baby.
She walked towards the music box and raised her leg to kick it over. The violin music stopped abruptly.
Libella was instantly jolted awake.
Why did she kick the music box?!
At that moment, the six mirrors in the room started to change. Earlier, she did not see anyone in the room, but now, she saw them.
Everyone here was dressed in classical clothing. Their bodies were translucent, and they were dancing in pairs.
And she had just kicked over their music.
Oh god …
Libella took a deep breath. This situation was probably not just a paranormal escape game.
It was a paranormal escape game.
Run!
She hugged the trench coat in her arms and turned to run out of the door. According to her previous experience, as long as she closed the door, there would be no problem. However, the ghosts moved much faster than the dead body and the baby. If she stayed for even a moment, she would be caught by them. But now, what could she do? She did not find the key, and there was nowhere to run. Was she supposed to return to the morgue and be eaten?
Of course not!
Libella felt the cold wind behind her, and she felt much "cooler".
The door to leave this place was closed, so where could she run to?
But now, there was only one way. That was the only way out. So, she had to find the key!
Where was the key!
Hurry!
Hurry up and think!
Wait, the trench coat!
Libella reached into the pocket of the trench coat. She actually found the key!
Great!
She found the key!
Whether it was the key to that door or not, she had to give it a try now!
She felt that she had never thought so fast before, and her legs had never been so agile. She did not even have time to look behind her. She just kept running toward the door. Although there was only the sound of her footsteps in the corridor, she knew that someone was chasing after her. Otherwise, where did the strange cold wind come from?!
She had arrived!
She opened the door, and the cold wind behind her suddenly disappeared. At the same time, the whole house began to shake.
What was going on?
An … an earthquake?
But Libella did not have time to think about it. Whether it was an earthquake or something else, she had to leave this place immediately. However, she stopped in her tracks.
It was pitch black outside the door. She could only see a staircase and a mirror at the entrance of the staircase. There was nothing in the mirror except for a person. Obviously, that person was herself.
But … it didn't look like herself …
Her blonde hair was tied up in knots, and her dress was dirty. She looked like she had been wearing pajamas for many years. Her figure was exactly as she had imagined, bony.
She was too skinny and looked very scary.
Libella looked away uncomfortably. Then, she simply put on the trench coat in her arms. The cold wind behind her reappeared, reminding her that she was being chased by a group of strange things!
Libella subconsciously looked back. She couldn't help but widen her eyes at the scene behind her. The floor of the room had finally collapsed, and from the collapsed area, she could see a vast fire. It was like a sea of sulfur in an active volcano. Those who were chasing her had all fallen into it. Not far away, there was a dead body covered in blood, and the baby … He looked … very pitiful.
Libella took a step back. Then, the mirror behind her shattered, but her shadow was still left in the mirror. Her eyes were in the broken pieces, staring at her intently.
The collapse of the house was getting worse. Libella finally came to her senses and began to run all the way up the only staircase. However, there was only darkness in front of her. If she didn't want to fall into the sulfur fire and suffer like those people, Libella's mind flashed with the expressions of those people, and her footsteps became firmer.
A beam of light slowly appeared in front of her. Libella's breathing became more rapid. She wanted to run into the beam of light and get away from this strange place behind her.
It was close, close!
Whoosh —
She pushed the door open and then fell at the door. She lowered her head, and the sweat on her forehead dripped onto the cement road.
… Cement road?
Li Bella looked up blankly. Horns were blaring all around her, and there were people everywhere. She was standing in the middle of the road, and the traffic was rushing past her.
This …
The sun above her blinded her eyes, but it also gave her a strong sense of reality. It was completely different from the strange house just now.
But, where was that house?
Libella looked back, but she didn't see any house. All she saw were cars and people coming and going. On the other side, there were policemen signalling to her. They walked towards her and stopped the cars, trying to take her away from the dangerous middle of the road.
They were all living people …
Libella was stunned. She didn't expect that her first reaction would be this.
Suddenly, she heard a low voice in Chinese. She froze for a moment and slowly looked up.
In the blue sky, the clouds slowly gathered and formed a few Chinese words. Together with the strange narration, they appeared in her vision.
