I Am Really a Witch
Chapter 9
"You know I don't like to dance.
I can't stand anyone here except those I know. "Darcy frowned.
"How can you say that!"
Mr. Bentley exclaimed. "I'm sure I've never seen so many lovely girls. Some of them are really beautiful.
And you're standing there alone! "
"Oh, of course, the only beautiful one on the dance floor has been dancing with you the whole time."
Darcy raised his eyebrows.
"I've never seen such a beautiful girl!"
Mr. Bentley glanced around. "But her sister is also very beautiful. Why don't you ask my partner to introduce you?"
"Look, she's sitting there." Mr. Bentley pointed in a direction. "Oh, look, Miss Circy is there too," he said as he walked.
Hearing that, Darcy didn't want to go over. It wasn't easy for him to get rid of the unreserved lady's gaze, and he didn't want to feel it again.
He glanced around.
The two ladies were talking about something, and their eyes were curved with laughter.
Their smiles were too exaggerated.
His face darkened, but that pair of magical eyes flashed through his mind.
Circy began to talk to Miss Bentley and stopped paying attention to the others. She saw Elizabeth sitting alone in the distance, so she went over.
It was much more interesting to talk to this clever and humorous lady.
"You've danced at least one dance this time. That's a great improvement." Elizabeth smiled and teased when she saw her coming.
"That's right!" Circy sat down close to her. "Charlotte is pressing my head!"
"You can't let her hear that." Elizabeth was amused by her.
"Darcy, aren't you going to invite her?" Bentley tilted his head.
"She's beautiful, but not beautiful enough to move my heart, and the other one isn't even as good as this one."
Darcy looked away when he saw that Elizabeth and Circy were also looking at him. "Forget it, I'm not interested in flattering those neglected ladies.
You'd better go back and enjoy your partner's smile. Don't waste your time on me. "He turned and walked away.
Elizabeth stared at him and lowered her voice. Her face was full of disbelief. "Circy, did you hear that?
Oh my god!
He's so rude!
I can't believe a gentleman would say something like that. "
Circy didn't say anything and narrowed her eyes.
She had never been criticized like this in her two lifetimes. If she didn't give him a "gift", she would feel sorry for him. He deliberately leaned so close to her so that she could hear him.
Elizabeth was indignant. "Circy, don't listen to him. You're very beautiful. So many men want to invite you to dance!" She didn't have much of a reaction to being disliked, but she especially couldn't stand Circy being looked down upon.
She and Charlotte had been close since they were children. She had always treated Circy as her own sister, not to mention that this sister was much cuter and more well-behaved than her own sisters!
Circy tilted her head and listened. She felt warm in her heart. At the same time, she was more determined to make that rude gentleman pay the price he deserved.
Elizabeth held her left hand, and her right hand was covered by the wide skirt. She moved her fingertips and stared at Darcy's back.
A thin beam of light passed through the crowd and stuck to that person. Then, it silently dissipated.
Under the lights of the dance floor, this thin light was too inconspicuous.
After confirming that her magic had worked, Circy showed a small smirk. She suddenly shook Elizabeth's arm affectionately. "Okay, okay, let's not talk about that annoying guy. What a killjoy!"
Elizabeth changed the topic smoothly. Not far away, Charlotte came over to join them.
Circy, of course, didn't cast any terrible curse on Darcy. She just wanted to teach him a little lesson.
Really, it was just a simple prank spell.
Oh, you want to ask what kind of spell this is?
It's nothing. It'll just make him step on his dear dance partner's feet frequently when he dances.
For an old-fashioned gentleman like him, it's a big deal if this little spell can make him lose face.
You see, he couldn't stand Mr. Bentley's coaxing and went to invite Miss Bentley.
Just nice, they're together.
Seeing the two people enter the dance floor, Circy almost couldn't control her expression of waiting for a good show.
She could only try to pull her attention back to the conversation between Charlotte and Elizabeth so that she wouldn't be too obvious.
However, when they really did dance, Circy couldn't look away.
Her abnormality quickly attracted the attention of her two sisters.
"Circy?
What are you looking at? "Charlotte saw that her sister seemed to be interested in something and looked over in confusion.
Charlotte was still able to maintain her composure, but Y'lisabet couldn't hold it in any longer. Being able to restrain herself from laughing out loud was already an extraordinary display of self-control. Because of this, she held back her tears.
She saw that the arrogant Mr. Darcy, for some reason, actually made the low-level mistake of stepping on someone's foot.
It wasn't just once or twice. Almost every few steps, he would step on someone's foot heavily.
After all, even a man attending a ball for the first time would never be so rude. Which one of them didn't practice countless times before entering a social occasion?
Miss Bentley's face was blue and her cheeks were twitching. It looked like she was in great pain, but she was trying her best to endure it. Her expression was distorted.
Mr. Bentley looked at her from the side and felt pain for her. He gritted his teeth and hissed.
The key point was that it was very impolite to quit in the middle of a dance. Whether it was the arrogant Mr. Darcy or the noble Miss Bentley, they couldn't do such a shameless thing. At this time, they could only endure it and hurt each other.
Those who danced round them involuntarily focused their eyes on them, and some of them even trod on the feet of their partners. For a moment, it seemed to be contagious, that Miss Darcy and Miss Bingley, who had begun, were not so conspicuous as they seemed to be at first.
Circy looked at Darcy's face, which was as black as the bottom of a pot, and felt that she had gotten her revenge.
He couldn't always laugh at her. This time, it should be her turn.
But thinking about it, she didn't want to go too far. If she kept being stepped on by him, it wouldn't be as simple as losing face.
She pursed her lips. Seeing that he didn't say anything about knowing her, she would let him go for now.
She moved her fingers, and the magic dissipated as it appeared.
In the dance floor, Darcy seemed to feel something. He looked over from afar and saw Circy's sly eyes.
