Persatuben Prins
Chapter 11
Everyone was very satisfied with the meal. After the meal, Pessatuben distributed the gifts to everyone. Of course, there were only some practical daily necessities. After all, Pessatuben wouldn't easily give gifts to people he didn't know.
However, he did prepare special gifts for the two Weasley children who hadn't started school yet. Jenny received a butterfly lantern that glowed at night. The brightness was adjustable, very suitable for girls who were afraid of the dark. Ron received a crystal ball. With the matching glasses, he could see that the crystal ball was a miniature version of Quidditch Soccer Stadium. The scenery inside would change according to the seasons in the real world.
This made Ron have a good impression of Pessatuben, but if he mentioned Slytherin, he would probably reject it.
After bidding farewell to the passionate lions, Pessatuben went directly to the manor's library.
Apart from books, there were also many portraits of important members of the Prince family.
Pessatuben had a few questions that only these people would be able to answer.
When he was alone, Pessatuben didn't hide his abilities anymore. He openly used the Scepterless Curse. After all, he was still underage. Even if he was already the head of the household, he still had to 'live without purpose' under the supervision of the Magic Supervision Bureau.
As for the training ground, it was a place that the original Prins had developed to grow rare plants. Naturally, no magic waves would be detected there.
He casually conjured up a long sofa and poured himself a cup of warm milk.
Pessatuben sat coldly in the center of the room. The portraits on both sides and in front of him didn't seem to be affected in the slightest. However, if one looked closely, they would discover that everyone was holding their breaths, waiting for the silence to be broken.
"Everyone," Pessatuben said softly, "I think you might need to know something about Severus."
"Severus?"
"Yes. Oh, perhaps you haven't heard of this name before, but you must have heard of Irene Prins, right?"
Pessatuben's sharp eyes glanced at a portrait that suddenly became excited.
It was an old and bloated man. "Irene, oh my Irene." The previous head of the Prins.
"Severus Snape is Irene's son. He's now a potions professor at Hogwarts," Pessatuben explained.
"Oh, as expected of the bloodline of our magic potioneering family," a woman sighed.
"How sad, Irene actually married a Muggle," the other woman continued.
"Poor Irene. She was blinded by love."
"If you ask me, Muggles are really a useless race."
"Muggles can't do anything."
“.....”
Pessatuben was getting a headache from all the noise. "Shut up. There's no point in arguing. You're just a portrait now."
What he got in return was the glare of a dozen pairs of eyes.
"Isn't it?"
Pessatuben smiled. "Alright, this topic is over. I saw Severus's name in the genealogy that Gigi gave me."
This was a heavy blow, but because of Pessatuben's authority, only the previous head of the family who was closest to Severus dared to ask in a trembling voice, "If he's in the genealogy, it means that he's been acknowledged by the Prince family. Why … why didn't he come back?"
Putting down the empty quilt, Pessatuben said, "That's what I wanted to say. Under normal circumstances, I should see three colors in the genealogy. Grey, which represents death and expulsion, green, which still exists in this world, and gold, which represents the greatest power. But you know, I actually saw a fourth color, red. What do you think it means?"
The people in the portraits looked at each other, as if they didn't know what was going on. An old man who looked wiser said, "Red is a bright and dazzling color. In a sense, it's a warning. Well, I'm the oldest here. I've heard a rumor that the Prince family once had a matriarch with an extremely strong prophetic ability. This, perhaps, is an omen …"
"An omen of what?
Death! "Pessatuben suddenly stared at the old man.
The old man was startled and disappeared into the portrait frame.
"Sorry," Pessatuben came back to his senses. "To be honest, I don't really like hearing Severus have anything to do with death."
The portraits all nodded awkwardly.
"Actually, what I'm concerned about is related to what you just said. Avada.
Kedavra
Is there any way to break this curse? As far as I know, only one person has survived this curse. "
"Pessatuben, why do you ask?"
"Shh, because I know that person is coming back."
"What?!"
"Isn't he dead?!"
"How can that madman still be alive?!"
"Quiet." Pessatuben frowned. "Why are you all so jumpy?
No matter what, there's still time.
Tell me, what do you all want to say about the Death Curse? "
"What you're saying is, Severus might have …"
Pessatuben nodded but didn't say anything. Should he tell them that the Professor was actually bitten to death by The Dark Lord's pet snake?
The most important reason was that he had lost confidence in being alive.
"Actually, the Death Curse is fatal, but some powerful magic can offset part of its power."
"Let's hear it."
"After eliminating some factors that can't be executed, only physical defense is left. But it's difficult because you don't know how powerful the curse is and what kind of magic can completely offset it."
Pessatuben nodded in understanding. Perhaps it was time to practice some black magic.
This dangerous thought flashed through Pessatuben's mind.
"If you're fast enough, you might be able to destroy his weapon before the Death Curse is cast," a woman reminded.
Pessatuben quietly thought for a while and came up with an idea.
"Thank you. Now, take a rest," Pessatuben threw away the moment he finished using it and completely ignored the portraits' angry expressions.
It was like telling you something very exciting, but in the end, you couldn't participate in it. It made people feel sullen.
"If I'm fast enough …" Pessatuben took out a spellbook and scanned through the lines of incantations.
The length and pronunciation of the incantation were fixed. A single wrong syllable would result in a different effect.
Trying to increase the speed of the incantation by speaking the original incantation was obviously not feasible.
He could only try to research and see if he could come up with a faster incantation. The effect would probably be worse, but as long as it wasn't useless, it should be useful.
The magic wand was an important weapon. Not only did it give the wizard a more stable and powerful performance, but it also allowed the wizard to take the lead in a faster speed.
Perhaps he could consider putting the magic wand in a convenient position.
For example, the forearm. That way, it would only take a short second to raise the weapon and face the enemy.
"Maybe I can tie it to the arm."
Pessatuben found a piece of Horned Camel's hide. It could defend against most magic attacks and was suitable to be made into a magic wand pouch.
Thank you to the Prins' collection room. Thank you to the old Prins who liked to collect valuable items. You never know what you'll find here.
"But now it's all mine," Pessatuben thought.
The hide was perfectly cut and sewn together with a snake tendon that he didn't know who collected it. It was thin and tough. Pessatuben tried his best to destroy it with incantations, but in the end, it was only slightly damaged.
This was also the reason why it was used.
The magic wand pouch was tied to the inside of his forearm. There was a hidden clasp near the palm of his hand. When pressed, the wand would slide into the palm of his hand in less than a second. It was perfect.
Pessatuben added a few more Counter Incantations on the magic wand pouch to prevent anyone from trying to take it away.
The surface of the magic wand pouch with Counter Incantations seemed to be flowing with silver light. It was very beautiful.
It was delicate and small, just enough to fit Pessatuben's own magic wand. When he put on his school uniform, it was perfectly covered. It didn't look out of place.
The holiday was over in the blink of an eye. Before returning to school, Pessatuben went to Spider Tail Alley to see if Professor still lived there.
Of course, this was after he cast Invisibility and Ignore Incantations on himself.
Otherwise, if he bumped into Severus, not only would he lose his horse, but he would also have to live in an abyss of suffering.
Pessatuben's plan was to prevent anyone from influencing Severus's future plot.
But obviously, Pessatuben's efforts were in vain.
When he arrived at Spider Tail Alley, where Severus's house used to be, all that was left was a ruin overgrown with weeds.
After asking around, he found out that the drunkard Tobia had died of alcohol poisoning 16 years ago. He was sent back by the hotel owner. As for the sad woman, it seemed that not long after Tobia's death, she was in a daze and accidentally burned down the entire house. Not even the bones were left behind.
Because someone had died in the house, it was difficult to rent it out and could only be torn down. No one was willing to build a house here, so it became a bare, flat land.
As for the dirty little boy who never spoke, no one ever saw him again.
"Severus," Pessatuben muttered as he looked at the flat land in front of him. "How strong must you be to be able to bury something like this in your heart?"
After returning to school, life didn't seem to have changed much. Principal Dumbledore still went to Severus regularly to ask for potions to protect his teeth. Severus was still deducting points from Gryffindor. Gamma was successfully engaged to his girlfriend, and Pessatuben was scheduled to attend their wedding. The Gemini were still doing all kinds of experiments, and Pessatuben would occasionally go to the library with Cedric.
The only thing worth celebrating was that after Pessatuben's tireless efforts — probably because the potion materials he gave the research-obsessed professor made him happy — Pessatuben successfully obtained Severus's address.
The address was remote, but thankfully quiet. However, Severus rarely went back. He spent most of his time in the potion lab.
Severus's exact words were, "There's nothing more enjoyable than brewing a potion."
